Vintage Farmhouse Sign

March 4, 2013

I have been working on things  for the Vintage Market show. As you know I am a bit eclectic with my taste . I am planning on bringing  a variety of pieces including small furniture and vintage finds. This was just an old piece of barn wood. The patina on this piece was perfect for a vintage sign transformation. I did a coat of Annie Sloan Louis blue and a thin wash of old white. I sanded it down a bit and then traced letters using a font from word to this board. The first thing that came to my head was hillside dairy farm with that date. I really love this old finish don't you? I took a photo here with it above my cabinets. This is one of those pieces I hate to part with. This will be available at the Vintage Market. I will be sharing more as ... View Post

The First Day of Spring and Vintage Barkcloth

March 2, 2013

Did you know that March 1st is the first day of spring? The first climatological day of spring according to the world meteorological organization is on March 1st in the northern hemisphere. Honestly I don't really know what that means. Outside I still see lots of snow. But the sun is out today! So excited spring time brings flowers. And we get a little more light everyday. And it also brings the Vintage Market Do you see that sweet apron? Handmade by someone. I just found it while out junking. For now it adorns my mannequin. And I added a little vintage bling too! I plan on wearing this sweet little number at the Vintage Market I think you will be able to spot me! Are   you excited spring is finally ... View Post

What’s Your Dish?

February 27, 2013

As I am changing things around and cleaning I came across some pretties I have not seen in a while. Yes I LOVE my white ironstone it's a favorite of mine. But I still love dishes with flowers. Especially roses. I used to collect  lots of these. But only saved the pieces that were really special. This is one of those sets. The shape of these cups are so pretty and unique. I have never seen another set like this. Just for fun I set up a little tea party. Don't those cupcakes look delicious? Let's take a closer look. This is where I tell you don't believe everything you see. Because those are not real. I found those while out shopping at an antique store. They were using them as a display but selling them. I thought they ... View Post

Spring Cleaning

February 26, 2013

I know we are all thinking about spring right? Changing things around our house. Freshening things up. I like to do that in my space at 417 too! I was changing things around. Bringing some new things in.     Duck egg blue dresser. The perfect color to add just the right pop of color. I think this would be cool not only in a bedroom but..... Storage for linens, napkins, table cloths in a dining room, kitchen or..... in a laundry room used to store all your utility items. See that medicine cabinet??? So cool right? Well it's gone. Sold shortly after I took this photo. You have to be quick. Don't wait too long. Or chances are it will be gone! This piece needs to find a home before I bring it back here. One of ... View Post

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
