Groundhog Day

February 3, 2013

Yesterday was Groundhog day.Seems like a silly celebration really. All the commotion over a furry animal that supposedly predicts if it will be an early spring or not. But in 1993 a film crew came to Woodstock Illinois to  film the movie Groundhog day.And ever since they left this town has been celebrating  groundhog day in a big way! People anxiously awaiting the announcement. We arrived there bright and early in the morning. The temperature was 18.It was quite cold. Bright and early all bundled up. Not pictured here is a photo local paper took . Can't see my face but you can see me standing with a gold coat, sporting my camera and Jeanne Oliver camera bag you can see that if you visit HERE This is where Scooter the groundhog makes his ... Have You Heard About Linen?

January 23, 2013

Well have you? Of course you have! I 'm talking about Miss Mustard Seeds milk paint in linen. It is one of my favorite colors in her line. Recently while shopping I found this piece. I know it does not look like much. The color is pretty ugly. But as soon as I saw this piece I thought Miss Mustard Seed paint in Linen! So I grabbed it and off I went. Do you find pieces like that. They speak to you. When you find it you know exactly what you want to do with it. I love how this turned out! It really looks like an authentic old piece! I believe this is a plant stand but I am enjoying it with  my cherub garden statue. I added this piece to my family room.In the corner with my old door! You can see what it looked like recently ... Simple Valentine Heart Wreaths

January 22, 2013

My daughter was home from school yesterday. She wanted to have a girls day out and shop but the temperature was 6 and the windchill was -14. I am no one turn down a day out shopping, but when it is that cold I don't  go out anywhere, not even to shop! Instead we stayed home by the fire and did a little crafting. I wanted to make something for Valentines day. I really don't decorate for that holiday, but thought it would be fun to make a few heart wreaths. Since we were stuck inside, I only used what I already had on hand. I had some scrap muslin, some dizzy frizzy. I found the dizzy frizzy at the thrift shop for .50. I knew when I found the dizzy frizzy that I would figure out a fun craft project to use it for. This craft is  so simple, I  just took some wire and made heart ... View Post

I just adore the rose pattern on these napkins. Again we use these every day! And I don't iron who has time for that? One of my favorite mini vintage crazed ironstone pitchers.I do love white ironstone. But I also love finding pieces that are stained ,crazed and cracked showing there true age. Aren't these pretty! I am so happy to hear many of you also enjoy using your pretty things. That is what they are meant for so enjoy them. Today my daughter is off of school. We are sitting by the fire and crafting.I will share with you tomorrow what we are working on today.I will give you a hint.It has ... View Post

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
