Learn How To Start A Blog

October 19, 2014

How would you like to learn how to start a blog? I shared a similar post months ago,but thought I would re-share this with so many new followers. Because I am asked this question constantly. Here are ten steps to starting your own blog. 1). Think of a name for your blog.A name that describes who you are and what your blog will be about. 2). Decide whether you want to be on Blogger or Wordpress. If you are looking to make an income from blogging then I would suggest using Wordpress and hosting your blog. Why? Because Wordpress has better SEO(search engine optimization) 3). Once you establish that you indeed want to host on wordpress you have to search for a host. There will be a monthly fee for hosting your blog. The cost depends on the host and how much they charge for ... View Post

What’s New In The Shop

October 16, 2014

Here is what's new in the shop this week! Since we are getting closer to the holidays I thought I might start adding a few items as I find them. Like these lovely vintage pink mercury glass ornament spikes. Love the color on these. They would look beautiful on a tree or in a glass jar! I love using trays for entertaining. Did you read my post here for must haves when entertaining? I like using them for my snack, beverage and dessert station. This one has beautiful patina, and I love the dark color too! This tray is Italian Florentine. It's full of wonderful patina! I don't find these trays in this color often as they are normally gold. When I am setting up a tablescape I love using reflective pieces like this mirror. A pitcher full of flowers would be perfect for this ... View Post

10 Must Haves For Entertaining

October 14, 2014

Like many of us this time of the year we will be entertaining,so I wanted to share 10 must haves for entertaining. When I host a party or gathering  it doesn't matter how big of a crowd there are certain things that I must have when I entertain. 1). Dishes and lots of them! I am sure you probably noticed that I collect dishes.Sometimes I do use paper plates. But most often than not I use real dishes. I think it's a little luxurious to offer my guests a real dish to use instead of a paper plate. It's fun to mix and match,I have many sets of dishes. White can be formal or informal, and as you can see I have dinner plates and dessert dishes. And no,this is not the only white dishes I have just showing you a small portion. Here is another option for dessert dishes, these saucers. They ... View Post

Field Trip To Nellie’s Barn Sale

October 12, 2014

Taking a field trip to Nellie's Barn Sale. On Friday and Saturday my friend Ann held her event Nellie's Barn Sale. And I was greeted by not only Ann but also my other lovely friend  Kimberly from Serendipity Refined! ( On left is Ann,Right is Kimberly) Love these two ladies! They are both down to earth, sweet and so talented! Let's go on inside okay. This amazing camper was just at the entrance. Such a grande entrance into the sale! Sorry the photo is a tad blurry my camera was acting a little wonky and I only had one photo of this. Blurry or not its gorgeous! Once inside this building I saw lots of beautiful treasures! This is the booth by One Love,She has the best scented candles. Okay I could go on and on about Stephanie and her candles, but I am saving that for ... View Post

What’s New In The Shop

October 9, 2014

Let's see what's new in the shop this week. I am adding some lovely shabby chic linens. Yes I am all about pink but I do adore blue as well. This sheet is from Rachel Ashwell's Simply Shabby Chic line,it's in the British Rose pattern. This blue is one of my favorites! And remember you can use a bed sheet for more than just your bed. As in using it for a tablecloth,to cover furniture or make it into a curtain! I  also added this sweet rose covered ruffled sheet set. I love the lace trim and the soft faded roses on this. This is a fitted and flat sheet that would work perfectly on a bed or thing outside of the box! Also adding these sweet pillow covers, they are adorned with sweet faded shabby roses. These will be offered with the covers only not the actual pillow. But you ... View Post

Painting A Leather Chair A Year Later

October 5, 2014

Almost a year ago I shared that I was painting a leather chair. The chair that I was painting was found at a thrift shop. You can read the original post HERE. The chair was only 10.00 so I did not have much to lose if this was a fail. I painted the chair using Annie Sloan paint in Coco then applying wax. Before I began painting it I tried fixing the repairs on the chair as best that I could. But I was hoping the paint and wax would help seal the tears this chair had. This was the chair after I painted it,you can see in the front area of the chair where it was repaired. It's not perfect but I was hoping it would hold up,this chair is used allot since it is our office chair. Today I wanted to update you all on how this chair has held up. I wanted to be honest about this,is it a ... View Post

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
