Exciting News We’re Moving To Georgia

April 1, 2016

I've been keeping a secret from you and honestly, I don't know how I've been able to do it! I can keep a secret, but this is a pretty big secret! It's time to spill the beans because I'm ready to burst! Last year I shared that my dream was to move. You can read about my hopes and dreams HERE. I've been selling lots of my collection and I'm still planning on selling more at my sale in May. After I wrote that blog post, my husband and I talked and talked about what are plans would be if we moved. Where would we go? What about my daughter and her school? Shortly after we talked, my husband was offered a new job. This new job would mean transferring to a new state. Moving now was a big decision, she only has a few years left, but we decided to bite the ... View Post

Why Menopause Sucks

March 31, 2016

Were going to drift slightly away from decorating today. Well more than slightly! Let's talk about menopause. If you are not going through this you may want to listen anyway. You're in store for a good time! I shared this post last July, but since writing this one change that I made has been getting fit and eating right. I'll be honest, it hasn't totally helped my menopause symptoms, but it's helped a little. You can join Jumpstart To A Healthier You HERE. It's free! I am hoping that if you are reading this, it may make you laugh and realize that you are not going through it alone. Let's go back before I started "The Change". I have always been a fit person. But during my High School years I had very poor eating habits. I think my lunch was a hostess cherry pie, and I am not sure if I ... View Post

How To Care For Succulent Plants

March 29, 2016

Last week I shared my Grunge plant holder that I created. Before shooting photos for that project, I decided to add a few flowering plants to make it look prettier. These plants were going to be for photo purposes only, as I'm planning on selling this at my Vintage sale. Yeah, I was going to keep it, but I've decided to let it go with lot's of my personal collection. Anyway, while my daughter and I were out running errands, shopping thrift stores, I decided to stop by a local nursery to see what they had as far as flowers. It's too early to think about outdoor flowers yet, but I was hoping to find something in there greenhouse. As we were walking in the greenhouse I stumbled onto these beauties. They're a succulent, the variety is called a double Kalanchoe. The ... View Post

How To Save Money Shopping At A Thrift Store

March 26, 2016

If you've been following my blog for awhile, then you know my obsession with Thrift Stores. This is one of my biggest secrets, and where I find 99% of my cool vintage pieces. Let's see....what have I found? How about, cool chippy, shabby pieces. And, cool vintage furniture that just needed a little paint. I'm very fortunate because where I  live we're surrounded by these amazing thrift stores. Each time I visit, I never know what I'm going to find, I guess that's part of the fun. Over the last 4 years I've seen more and more of these thrift shops open up. We have six in our area that I truly love. And there's still three other thrift shops in our area, but I usually avoid those because most of it is dirty an icky. Not only do I find cool vintage ... View Post

Thrift Store DIY Earring Holder

March 23, 2016

Several year ago I made an earring holder for my daughter. I never shared a video tutorial on how to create one, so today I thought I would share just how easy it is. I love cheap, and easy crafts, don't you? Isn't this cute! My daughter loves wearing jewelry, and she has several different style earring and jewelry holders in her room. I think her jewelry is multiplying, because I  see more and more each time I'm in her room. Oh well, it's a teenage thing ;-) To make this earring holder you'll need.... A frame Screening material Hot glue gun Paint Watch this video tutorial and see how easy this is to create. You can search for a frame with a stand or without a stand, either way it will work. It really depends on where you want to put ... View Post

Creating A Grunge Patina

March 20, 2016

Grunge Patina In the past I've shared some of my crazy ideas, like the time I added broken china to my kitchen counters. Or the time I decided to paint my vintage piano, but didn't use primer. But this is how I roll... I get an idea in my head, and I go for it, never knowing what the end result will be. Sometimes it turns out great and other times, well, not so much! Today I hope to inspire you, but this isn't a tutorial. It's really just about thinking outside of the box and letting your creative juices flow. You never know unless you try right? This is how I came up with the idea to use vinegar and water to distress, you can read about that HERE. Or the time that I mixed milk paint and chalk paint and created a beautiful authentic chippy, distressed patina. You can ... View Post

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
