Your probably wondering how my Vintage Chic sale went. First, I want to thank all who came out. Many from far away, which blows my mind! I wish I had photos to share while everyone was shopping, but there was no time for photos. On Thursday night I had a rope drop, and many people standing in line to shop my sale. As soon as the rope dropped the shopping began. I barely had time to write each item on the sales tickets because the check out line was growing! I handed out bright pink post it notes before the rope drop, and told everyone that if they saw something they wanted, to put the post it on the piece with there name. Doing this ensured that it was there's and no one else could purchase it. And they could continue shopping. The treasure's went fast, and once the big crowd ... View Post
Vintage Chic Sale
You will probably not see as many new posts in the next week as I get ready for my vintage chic sale. This is the sale I held in my home last summer. I transformed my garage into a shop, you can view the transformation HERE. I also shared what I learned from my first home sale, you can read all about that HERE and HERE. For this year's sale, I have already placed an ad in the paper, and I am advertising on Craigslist. One of the lessons I learned last year is that I should have advertised more. This year I am on top of that. And as you can see my garage is much fuller than it was last year. Most of the pieces are from my personal collection. If you've seen in photographed on my blog or in a magazine, it's in my garage. So why am I downsizing and purging so much? I shared ... View Post
Easy DIY Seashell Art
So thrilled to be a part of the seashell tour, and share this easy diy seashell art. This time of the year for the most part, no matter where you live you are thinking about the beach and seashells. When I was asked to be a part of this tour I had so many ideas running through my head. Since I am making some changes in my screened in porch I thought I needed to add a little art in there. So I pulled out an old screen that I had not been using. I love the chippy patina on this old screen, but I wasn't crazy about the color. As you may or may not remember, I am adding color to my porch. So I pulled out my paint and painted this Chippy Blue from my signature paint line. I just added one coat. Next, I pulled together seashells that I purchased through Micheal's crafts. I believe ... View Post

My Happy Place Is Disney World
This post will either bore you to death or you will enjoy it. Today I am not sharing any DIY or decorating tips. But, I am sharing a personal story, something I am very passionate about. Disney I guess it depends on whether you are a Disney Freak like I am. If you are then you will most likely continue reading. If you're not, then you will probably not want to continue reading. One of our favorite places to vacation, and my happy place is Disney World. Why is Disney World so special to us and why am I such a Disney freak? Well I have always been a Disney fan, ever since I was a child. We lived in Orange County California, which is very close to Disneyland. I was lucky to have visited Disneyland quite often in the four years we lived in California. But, I have to be honest, I ... View Post
Distressing Furniture Techniques
I never know what I will create when I am working on a piece. Sometimes a piece is easy to work with because of the details, and sometimes I need to get creative and add character. As I am working on a piece I don't use conventional methods to distress furniture. Sometimes besides using vinegar to distress furniture, I also use other methods. Distressing furniture techniques can be as simple as using scissors and glue. I know it sounds like a school project. There is nothing more exciting than seeing your name on a can of paint. This is Vintage Green, I LOVE this color! I painted this piece with Vintage Green, it was pretty boring without any details on the piece. I really wasn't sure what I was going to do. And it's often that way, sometimes as I am creating a piece I start ... View Post
