Repainting Kitchen Cabinets And A Giveaway

November 2, 2015

****This giveaway has ended**** Several years ago I made the decision that I would paint my kitchen cabinets. And it was the best decision ever! I've had many tell me how much they love the white cabinets, and a few that ask me if I actually cook in my kitchen. Oh, that's so hilarious, well I do cook, I don't like too, but I do. Anyway after almost 4 years, they started getting a little dingy. So I decided it was time to add a fresh coat of paint. Only this time I wanted to use my signature paint color White Lace. It was very easy to do, I just applied White Lace right over the old paint color. It's a perfect match for the color that was originally on my cabinets. This time instead of distressing my cabinets, I just painted and sealed them. No sanding or distressing. I ... View Post

How To Hang Curtains The Right Way

November 1, 2015

How To Hang Curtains The Right Way Curtains are one of the most expensive accents for a room, and usually the most frustrating to figure out as far as hanging them.I started searching for curtain rods only to find that they were super expensive. Since I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a curtain rod I decided to make my own. Even though I don't have an electric saw I knew it would be easy to use my hand saw to cut a wood dowel. I measured my window, and cut a wood dowel half the size of my window. Drilled holds on both ends of my dowel so I could reuse the finials I had on my previous rod. Then painted it. The wooden bracket was purchased on etsy. Now it was time to start thinking about what curtains to purchase and how to hang them.     (This post contains ... View Post

Well, this has definitely been the year of dreams coming true! This Is Only A Test

October 24, 2015

I bet you are all wondering where in the world I have been. Well, I have been up to my neck in trying to organize and set up my new email program. I was with another company, who shall remain nameless. But this company messed up my billing not once, not twice but three times. And for me three times, your out! So this blog post is only a test. If you are a subscriber if you could please leave a little comment, like I'm here just so I know that you are all receiving this. I am working on a fun project, I'll be sharing tomorrow. ... Oh No You Didn’t Decorating Faux Pas

October 19, 2015

I am so glad you are here. Truly I am. Feeling blessed that you love vintage style as much as I do. If you didn't you probably wouldn't be here. Now, I know that vintage style isn't for everyone. Gasp! It's hard to imagine why someone wouldn't love chippy patina! Or shades of shabby pink and green. I have always, always, gravitated towards imperfect pieces. At one time my style slightly changed because someone mentioned that my style was too feminine. And no, it wasn't my husband. So, my style went in a different direction. And it wasn't me. But rather was what someone else said my style should be. But, it wasn't me. I see many design trends, and I cringe. Really I do. I think if I had to live in a house like that, I would be so unhappy. And I would HATE it! Because, ... View Post

Transforming A Room With Little Or No Money

October 16, 2015

I've been slowly purging things in my home. And you would think that would be an easy task, but it's not. I started out selling some of my personal collection at my last spring sale. Since then, I already have a huge selection ready for next sale next spring. I took several pieces out of my living room and sold them at the sale, which lead me to changing a few things. Using only what I had, with the exception of my new curtains, which I found at the thrift store for 15.00 for all three pairs. I took that metal dormer piece down that was above our sofa, and added it to our den. I decided to keep what I had above the sofa, since I am using what I already have. But I just tweaked it. Here is a shot of my room last year. The burlap chair has been sold, and the two other chairs are ... View Post

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
