Easy Furniture Makeover

January 20, 2016

Have you ever mumbled the words " I will never", "No, not ever". Yeah, me too! I've said those words so many times, with true meaning too. At the time I said those words, I felt passionate about those words. Like the time I said I would never paint my media cabinet. And.....I finally did. You can read about that easy furniture makeover  HERE. Or the time I said, that I would never paint my china cabinet.....      And I finally did! In fact, I've painted that piece several times, you can see how it looks now HERE. But, in the beginning stages of blogging, I shared this cabinet. I've had this cabinet for many years. I fell head over heels in love with this cabinet. The curvy glass, the sexy legs, the detail.....sigh. When I spotted this cabinet many years ago, I envisioned ... View Post

Easy DIY Valentine Wreath

January 17, 2016

Before I share this easy DIY Valentine wreath, I need to ask, have I ever shared the story of my Valentine? We'll many years ago, like back in the 80's, do you remember the 1980's? I fell head over heals in love with this really cute, skinny guy with lots of curly hair. Well, actually, I didn't fall in love with him the moment I met him. He actually spotted me first. It was 1982, and I was at a party with friends. Those "friends" turned out not to be my friends, but that's a whole other story. So, I walked into the room, he spotted me from across the room. Our eyes met, and he fell head over heels in love with me. Or that's what I was told. Just like a Hollywood movie. But you see, I didn't fall in love with him....not yet ;-) Yes, this cute skinny guy with the curly hair ... View Post

How To Make Tissue Paper Flowers

January 13, 2016

How To Make Tissue Paper Flowers If you've been following me awhile you know how much I love flowers especially roses. Living here in the Midwest, we don't have a bounty full of flowers growing in our gardens all year round. Many times I treat myself to fresh roses. Our market has a nice selection and they are usually 7-$10 for a doz. But occasionally they will only have red or yellow roses which I'm not a fan of. To brighten things up I decided to make paper flowers. These are so easy to make and you can use any color. I already had white tissue paper so I decided to go for it!   Supplies needed: Tissue paper Scissors Pipe cleaner or twine Wire if you don't have pipe cleaners   .   1).To begin your project take your tissue paper and fold ... What Happened?

January 11, 2016

I wanted to explain what happened to my site if you were trying to access it yesterday or today. My blog is self hosted, and  my host lost it's server... I think I said that right. Anyway, it's all so confusing at times, but just like you, I was locked out of my site....eeek! Because I was down, I am a little backed up with my work. No worries, I'll be back tomorrow sharing more :-) In case you missed yesterdays post, here it is :-) HERE. ... View Post

80+ Simple Craft Projects

January 10, 2016

Usually on Sundays I share my biggest project of the week, well today I thought I would share 80+ simple craft projects. That's a lot of projects and crafts! They're all projects I've shared over the past 4 years. But before I get to the projects, I bet that you're probably wondering where I've been lately. Things have been a little crazy around here, as I'm working on several things at once. I have a few deadlines including finishing up my videos for an upcoming workshop series, Inside The Painters Studio. I cannot wait to share more about this with you all! I promise more information will be coming shortly! I did manage to finish my media cabinet, and I shared that last week. If you missed it, you can read about that HERE. I also need to apologize to all of you that ... View Post

Media Cabinet DIY Makeover

January 6, 2016

Media Cabinet DIY Makeover Many years ago we purchased this media cabinet. Over the years my taste has changed and I've grown tired of the orange stain. After consulting with my husband I got the okay to paint this media cabinet. But painting it wasn't going to be enough. I needed to add details and hide all the components that were behind the glass. Here's my solution. (This post contains affiliate links please see disclosure policy) I began this project by painting this media cabinet with White Lace one of my signature paint colors from Heirloom Traditions paint. I started using a brush and then went on to using a foam roller so I could get as smooth of a finish as possible. This paint doesn't require a primer. I also didn't sand this before I started. It was a tedious job because ... View Post

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
