I have been busy with lots of projects. That is how I usually am.I have so many ideas all at once and I can't wait to get started on them .Seriously I will sit down watch a movie and I will look at the way a room is decorated and the ideas will flow.I know I am crazy right. I am finishing up my "Inspiration room. I finally have a space of my own to create. But I am not ready to reveal just yet. Here is a little peek at it.There it is just a little peek. The Flowers are from our local market. After viewing these roses on Courtney's blog French Country Cottage and recently on Laurie's blog Heavens Walk I knew I have to have these. And since my birthday is just around the corner I treated myself.Note to Mr. Cottage.....Thank you for these lovely roses.I could not pass them up!I love the pink with ... Farm House White Shabby Pink
In between painting and other projects I decided to change things around a bit.As I mentioned before I usually do not use pink much in my decor.I do LOVE the color. But I use it sparingly as an accent.I found this sweet old chair and I could not resist.I have some red in my kitchen so I think this pink will work.It has a little bit of green too.It will go perfectly with something I am working on in the kitchen.Don't you just LOVE all that chippy paint! Hydrangea's are from my garden. They are starting to turn colors. And they go perfectly with this chair.Found this beautifully tarnished tray too.I moved my French Bottle rack to my island so I decided to put this rusty white rack on my old farmhouse table. Love all the rust and chippy paint.I love the shape too.Lots of scrolls, crazing and ... View Post
A Little Coco
Now that my daughter is back at school I am getting back to my painting.I just finished this old dresser and I LOVE the color.I used Annie Sloan Coco and accented it with Old White. Lined with vintage music sheets. And look at what else is new at Space 417 Yep that is an Underwood.Similar to mine.I hate to part with it.But since I have already have one it is off to my space. What do you think of Coco? Have you used this yet?I think it is my new favorite color.Has a French look that I LOVE. Old Chippy Window New Entrance
When walking into my home I have a small entry space and a large wall.At one time I thought I would put a bench there and maybe a mirror. But having such a small space with a door I did not think a bench would work.I found this piece of furniture a few years ago at a resale shop.I think it fits perfectly in this tight space. There is still plenty of room for my door to open.My front door is just to the right of the photo....but not seen.I change this often. This time I decided to add a window in front and a few other things too.I love layering pieces together. But I could not stop here.I found this old painting at a thrift store. I love the scene and it looks like a window too.So why not put it by my window.I love the look of art behind glass. And the wear and tear chippy paint is one of my ... View Post
Coldplay Mylo Xylo and Key West
The past few days have been a whirlwind. On Wednesday we all saw Coldplay at the United Center Chicago. My Daughter made her shirt using iron on transfer letters. The silver glitter letters are hard to see here. She splatter painted the rest. This concert was amazing.I have been to many concerts and this one really blew me away.Everyone received a wrist band that lit up during the show.It was beautiful a sea of twinkling lights. Then confetti came down from the ceiling several times with inflatable balloons that looked like globes. When they popped more confetti streamed out. They played all of our favorites! At one point the band was actually in a seated section playing not far from us!Those lucky fans that had far seats were now in the front row!!!!My daughter took photos with her ipad. They are ... Copy Cat.. Ice…Ice…Baby
I have been searching for an old wood ice cream machine ever since I spotted one on Becky's blog Buckets of Burlap .I also spotted one on Rusty Hinge .I love that old Handy freeze ice cream bucket.I have found a few.But I was not willing to shell out lots of money for one.So what's a vintage loving girl like me to do???Well find an old one and make it special yourself!!!Here it is.This started out looking like this. Not my style. But the price was right! I would love to have an authentic chippy old one.But this will do.It is old.But I needed to make it more my style.I had some left over paint from another project.I did not create any chalk paint. It is just regular old flat latex paint. After painting it I sanded it down. This was already rusty so the paint brought it out even more! Hydrangea's ... View Post
