What’s New In The Shop

October 2, 2014

Sharing this week's,what's new in the shop. This week I am adding more linens to the shop. I am always hunting for linens and even if they are not vintage but have that vintage look I swoop them up. I love Rachel Ashwell's linens. And even though they are not vintage they have that vintage look. This duvet cover is neither vintage or Rachel Ashwell,it's a retired duvet cover from Pottery Barn. But I love the soft pink roses on one side and  pink and white check on the other side. Here is a little tip....or trick. I don't have a feather filled duvet, but I do have comforters so  I use  a comforter the size of the duvet cover. I simply put the comforter inside the duvet cover,so don't pass up those duvet covers when you find them. Even without a duvet you can still use these. I ... View Post

September 30, 2014

I would like to introduce you to Cherie of Jimmy Pickles. Cherie is the owner of Jimmy Pickles Etsy shop, and I am thrilled to announce that Jimmy Pickles  is one of our new sponsors here at White Lace Cottage! Don't you love handmade one of a kind pieces. Cherie's shop offers a wonderful selection of  handmade pieces including this lovely eyeglass purse. I am in love with the  fabric! And it's so unique with this style and shape! Okay.... I have had the eye glass cases that you simply slide your glasses inside. But this is so much prettier, and so stylish don't you think! Cherie also carries these very stylish and very cool wristlet keychains ! Great for running out without your purse but you need your keys. Sometimes you don't have a pocket, this is such a great idea and I ... View Post

Prairie Style Vintage Prom Dress

September 29, 2014

I decided to do a little photo shoot with my daughter  modeling this lovely Prairie style vintage prom dress. I have lots to learn about photography and one way to learn is to practice. Yes lighting is key and when shooting outdoors the time of day is also key. But when you are working with your teenage daughter you can't always pick the time of day to shoot. You can see I have lots of shadows on my photos, some were edited out but not all can be. This is an open field near our home,it makes a perfect back ground when shooting outdoors. We were also going for  prairie style with this vintage prom dress, can you see the cowgirl boots peeking out from under the dress. This prom dress is absolutely gorgeous, and it will be a newly listed item in the shop this week. The prom dress is  ... View Post

The Romance Of Fall

September 28, 2014

Ah the romance of fall, the cool crisp air,the smell of burning leaves and fire places. The sound of crunching leaves on the ground. Natures colors turn golden. It's time to pull out our sweaters, and boots. And let's not forget about those soft warm blankets and snuggling by the fire. **This shot was from last winter.** Doesn't fall sound amazing! I mean who wouldn't want to live somewhere that was so beautiful this time of the year. Drinking a cup of hot apple cider, visiting the apple orchards. Taking a hay ride. Living in a small town I see many old houses, like this bed and breakfast. And this old building with it's chippy paint. Some would look at this as if it were a dump, but I see the beautify the lies beneath. Yes fall is all around us....but I have to ... View Post

Festival Of Fall Tour

September 26, 2014

Today I am sharing my home as part of the Festival of Fall tour. Hello come on in,take your shoes off and stay awhile. I am sure you noticed that I don't have a fall wreath,it's because my fall decor is very simplistic. Our home is very relaxed, and cozy. Let me show you around. Here in my living room I added a few heirloom pumpkins. I replaced my dried flowers that were hung on my old wood screen hanging on the wall. Just simply added an acorn wreath bought at Decor Steals a year ago. A few sprigs of wheat grass are in my white ironstone pitcher. I like keeping things simple in my home,so I don't go out of my way to decorate for the seasons. My style has a shabby chic flare too it,and adding orange in my home just doesn't work. I love my hydrangeas from my garden this time ... View Post

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
