Repurpose Thrift Store Finds

October 14, 2015

This past weekend I shared that I attended a vintage barn sale with my daughter. And that I ran into a few of my friends. One of those friends was Kris from Junk Chic Cottage. After running into her, she sent me text with a few photos asking if I was interested in a few pieces. If it's chippy and old...well of course ;-) After talking for a bit she handed me this pretty pink metal box with hand painted roses. She no longer wanted it and thought I could use it for my spring sale. Because it's a cash box. Probably the prettiest cash box I have ever seen! Since I don't need a cash box right now, I thought it would be fun to use this for my makeup. I added a little vintage wallpaper to the inside of this box. Then I added my makeup inside. I don't have as much makeup as I ... View Post

Accent A Piece Of Furniture With Paint

October 12, 2015

I'm still working on my entertainment center, so I can't share that reveal just yet. Yes, it's been quite a project. Over the summer, I was searching for pieces of furniture to add to the spring sale, yeah, I know we're in fall now. But time goes by fast, and I have had a hard time finding pieces. I was trying to think of why I am not finding pieces...and here are my thoughts. 1)  People are not donating cool vintage pieces. 2) The thrift store employees are taking them. 3) I am arriving on the wrong days. Because it's been slim pickens for me for sometime now. Recently at a garage sale, I stumbled unto this sweet piece. Actually it didn't look like this. I didn't take a before photo, I know, I'm sorry. I guess I should have. But, close your eyes and imagine this ... View Post

No Sew Pumpkin Craft Project

October 11, 2015

No Sew Pumpkin Craft Project I love crafts that are easy, and crafts that are really cheap to make. If you don't sew you're going to love this simple craft! I was contacted by Flora Craft. They asked if I wanted to create a craft using foam balls and trim. I love a challenge, so I was totally on board! (This is a sponsored post and contains affiliate links, please read my disclosure policy). Supplies Needed: Floracraft - Make it fun - foam balls Design it- Simple Style- Decorative mesh Scrap fabric Twine Quilt batting Small branch  piece or something that will make a pumpkin stem Hot glue gun To make this no sew pumpkin, you'll need to determine how much scrap fabric to use. I cut a piece that was twice the size of the ball, knowing I could cut the ... View Post

Nellie’s Barn Sale 2015

October 10, 2015

Do you love treasure hunting as much as I do? I've shared that I do lots of thrift shop treasure hunting. But I always love going to vintage sales or flea markets. Yesterday my daughter and I took a drive to Roscoe Illinois to visit my friend Ann Campos at her amazing sale that she holds once a year. It's called Nellie's Barn Sale. This event has over 50 vendors. It's jam packed with beautiful, cool, and fun vintage treasures. So much to see as you are walking in, like these plants. I absolutely love this, but I passed on them, since as you know, I kill these. But, aren't they lovely! This metal piece is super cool! I love the vignettes in this booth, not sure what that piece is, but the patina is amazing! I went a little crazy in my friend Polly's booth. She has a ... View Post

Updating A Master Bedroom

October 9, 2015

Wow, sometimes looking back isn't a good thing. I mean, sometimes you look back at photos of yourself and you think, what was I thinking? Why did I wear that outfit, or what was up with my hairstyle. Well, you can say all that about decorating. And when you write a blog, you are putting your ideas, and thoughts out there for everyone to see. Good, or bad, it's what you like, and how you feel. I've been sharing some of the changes I've made in my home. I shared my living room you can see that HERE. And my kitchen HERE. And right now I am working on my family room. So let's take a look at a room that's had quite a few changes. Most of them have been small changes. But... I don't even know what to say. Well, here's my bedroom just four years ago. What in the world was I ... View Post

Whole30 A Month Later

October 7, 2015

About a month ago I started a program called Whole30. And let me tell you that I am in no way affiliated with this program. But I heard about it, so I decided to try it. Well okay, at first when I heard about it, I thought no way! But as I started seeing a pouch on my tummy, I decided I should give it a try. Because nothing I was doing was working! Going through menopause, well it sucks! I was cutting out foods, and exercising more, but still nothing was happening. I was eating mostly vegetarian, which meant that I was eating lots of carbs. Here is a before and after photo of me. Let me say that these are NOT flattering photos of myself, and I am being very brave in sharing so please be kind ;-) Oh yeah, the first photo was before I added a little red to my hair! I didn't ... ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
