Updating A Teen Bedroom Stage One

February 11, 2016

Three years ago, wow that's hard to believe! Anyway, as I was saying, three years ago I updated my daughter's bedroom. I'd love to say that my daughter had some input in her bedroom, but she said do whatever you want. So I did! We painted her bedroom the same color as the rest of our house, added new furniture that I painted. Bought new to us bedding from the thrift store, made a lamp, and updated her makeup bench. It's pretty much stayed the same for three years. My daughter is 16 and will be 17 this year, so it was time for another update. We need to stick to a budget, so I am going to update her room using mostly what we already have. Her furniture is staying, but it will all get a fresh coat of paint. I'll be looking at thrift stores for curtains and bedding. I'll be ... View Post

February 7, 2016

How To Add Patina Let's talk about the story of a sweet chippy box, and how to add patina. Have you ever fallen in love with something and no matter what you just cannot get it out of your mind? I'm not talking about  falling in love with a person, but a thing. (This post contains affiliate links, please read disclosure policy) You might have gone shopping and found the perfect pair of shoes, but they didn't have your size...sigh. Or a gorgeous bag, that would work perfectly with every single outfit, but someone grabbed it before you could. Or a sweet pink box that had the most perfect patina on it ever, but it wasn't for sale. Yeah, let's get back to that perfectly chippy shabby pink box. So a few years ago, while I was shopping in my favorite antique shop, checking to see what ... View Post

The other day I shared how to make appliques using candy molds. Well, today I'm going to show you how to make a bracelet using plaster and resin. Before I share the project, I was hoping to give you more information on the upcoming video workshop series, that's the exciting news I was going to share yesterday. Lots and lots going on behind the scenes. As soon as I get more information, which should be soon, I'll share it with you all. **************************************** Today I wanted to talk a little  more about the project I shared the other day. As you remember, I shared how to make appliques using candy molds and plaster of Paris. Not my idea, just something I stumbled onto while on Pinterest. But, when I saw that idea to use these appliques another idea came to ... View Post

Being Nominated And Going After Your Dreams

January 25, 2016

Last year was a pretty amazing year for me. I was blessed with some amazing opportunities. My goal was to make it happen and I did. It wasn't luck, it was chasing after my dreams. I wasn't afraid to put myself out there and take chances. Many people asked me how I got my signature paint colors, with Heirloom Traditions paint. This is what happened. I was contacted by Heirloom Traditions paint. And I was asked if I wanted to try a few samples of there paint, I thought, sure. So I received those paint colors and fell in love with the paint. I know you are thinking, how can you love paint that much. Well, it's simple, the product is pretty amazing to work with and I've worked with many. One of my first projects was this sweet little table, that went viral! A few months ... View Post

Upgrade Your Thrift Shop Find

January 24, 2016

Upgrade Your Thrift Shop Find Upgrade your new thrifty find easily and for very little money! I don't like spending lots of money because, hey I'm cheap. If I wasn't so cheap I wouldn't be shopping at thrift shop, right ;-) Yes I adore shabby style and this little thrifty upgrade is going to transform this crappy little table into a shabby treasure! (This post contains affiliate links, please read disclosure policy) I must admit that I have a wondering eye. When I am out and about, traveling or treasure hunting my eyes are always drawn to things that are imperfect. And it's not always a piece of furniture, or architectural piece. Sometimes it's an old home, the colors, the shape and style. And sometimes it's a brick wall. Have you ever heard of ghost signs? I'm not talking about an ... View Post

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
