EASY MAKEUP TIPS FOR WOMEN OVER 50

Today were focusing on the eyes and I’m sharing easy makeup tips for women over 50. As we age our skin changes so the way we apply our makeup has to change as well. The key to our eye shadow is application, blending and knowing what shadows to use where. I’m going to share some easy makeup tips in this article but you’ll want to make sure to watch my VIDEO. I’m sharing a step by step demonstration. Make sure you subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss any of my future content.

THE RIGHT TOOLS

Using the right brushes is so important. Even with little skills if you’re using the right brushes you’ll create beautiful eye looks that will look professional. So throw that sponge applicator away. You know the one I’m talking about. The one that most eye palettes have. Just toss it and invest in a good set of brushes. If you take good care of them they’ll last you for many years. My favorite go to brushes are from Rephr. They’re natural hair brushes made in Japan. They pick the the color beautifully and blend like a dream.

PREP THE EYE

Always make sure to prep your eyelid before applying a shadow. I would recommend using an eye primer and not a concealer or foundation. An eye primer is made to work on the eye area and will help your eyeshadow to adhere to your eyes. It will also help prevent creasing and it covers and conceals any veins or discoloration you may have on your eyes. It makes the perfect backdrop for your eyeshadow.

Using a foundation or a concealer won’t prevent your eyeshadow from creasing so always use an eye primer. The one that’s my current favorite is from Trish McEvoy.

START WITH A TRANSITION

Aways start with a transition shadow. This will help create a base for your other shadows. As you layer other shadows on top of this it will help create that blended and seamless look.

Born to run palette is one of my current favorites.

BLEND WELL

Always make sure to take the time to blend out your shadows. If you watch a beauty youtuber like me it may seem like I’m not blending it for long. But the truth is that I do take quite a bit of time blending. I also make sure to hold my brush correctly which I share in my VIDEO. Along with other tips and tricks.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
