TIPS FOR THINNING SPARSE BROWS ON MATURE WOMEN

February 29, 2020

TIPS FOR THINNING SPARSE BROWS ON MATURE WOMEN

I used to have the best brows. They were thick and full. So what did I do? I over plucked them. I think that was the look in 1980 something. Now that I’m 53 I’ve had to adjust how I apply eyebrow makeup to my brows because they’re now going bald. Yes, I have partially bald spots on my brows. If you have thinning sparse brows I hope these tips are helpful. At the end of this article is a video I created sharing a step by step process. Make sure to subscribe to my CHANNEL so you don’t miss any future content.(This post contains affiliate links. Please see disclosure policy)

STEP ONE

The first step to groom and shape thinning sparse brows is to make sure your brows are groomed well. Pluck any out of place hairs using tweezers. I get a few stray hairs but they seem to maintain there shape. Then take a spoolie brush like this one below and brush your brows into shape.

STEP TWO

The key to natural looking brows is to use the correct pencil color and to go easy on your application. If you’re heavy handed on your thinning sparse brows  to may end up looking like this.

I like the Chanel pencil. It lasts all day and I like the shape of this one. It does all the work for you. Start with your outer corner and work your way around your brows.  You’ll see me show this in the video. You always want to use short strokes and a light hand. Then start filling them in. Make sure you have a handheld mirror as well as a larger one that you’re in front of. Like a bathroom mirror or vanity mirror. The reason I say this is because you’ll get two perspectives. Sometimes looking too closely you may over it and looking far you may miss some of the detail.

STEP THREE

Use a brow gel. I like the one from Benefit because it has fibers that make my brows look a bit fuller. But just like the pencil you want to use a light hand and little strokes as you apply it. Again I share this in my video.

We want our brows to look thicker but natural. Our eyebrows frame our face and are an important part of our overall makeup look.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
