Styling With Flowers

June 8, 2014

how to style with flowers2

I am sure you have noticed by now that my favorite flowers are roses and they are my favorite choice when styling with flowers, especially pink roses.
And since I am a vintage gal I don’t use typical vases for styling my flowers.

Yes I do  love ironstone but there are so many other options to choose from when you are styling flowers.

roses styling

I shared this ice cream bucket awhile back and it is actually one of my favorite pieces to use for my flowers.

I just add  several small bottles inside the ice cream bucket then add my roses,if I don’t want the hand crank on the bucket I just remove it and add a tall vase inside then add the flowers.

A great choice for this (if using without my hand crank) is a tall vintage mason blue ball jar.

It seems to be tall enough for my bucket and if you see it the color works perfectly with this piece.

chippy pink door styling

Another fun piece to use for styling my roses is this sweet vintage watering can.

Things don’t need to be fancy to be pretty.

watering can flower styling

Love finding these old watering cans, this would look amazing with a full arrangement.

But I like things simple and just a small bouquet of pink roses works perfectly in this watering can.

That chippy chair is one of my favorite treasures.

I am sure you noticed that door is pink too,yes I painted my door that is in my family room pink.

It’s the perfect light pink called porcelain from Vintage Market and Design chalk based paint.

An old zinc pitcher is another great  piece to use for styling flowers.

Love the soft faded look of this metal just like the watering can.

A  fun thing I love doing with these old zinc pieces is using chalk to write on them.

Just for fun add a sweet note or a message on an old zinc piece, when you want to change it or leave it plain simply wipe it off.

These flowers are starting to go,yet they are still so pretty as they wilt away.

I never like using anything too fancy as a vase for my flowers.

You might remember these  SODA BOTTLES that I use as a vase.

Old sea glass bottles work beautifully as vases too.

cowgirl boots flower styling

And what about a pair of cowgirl boots?

Just add a tall jar to fit inside each boot and add your flowers.

This looks great and so unexpected too!

Yes it has that prairie style to  it.

Just look around your house, and use things a bit unusual and unexpected.

These arrangements are all beautiful Anne. I love to scour yard sales and flea markets for old ice cream buckets too. They are just the right height for many things and for flowers. I even love them standing empty!

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
