Through The Looking Glass

March 21, 2013

I have many things on my favorite list.

It seems like the list keeps growing.

I already have a fondness for old chippy tables.

In case you did not already know that.

But I also LOVE this old barn door of mine.

It has come along way and changes quite often.

I came across this old vintage mirror.

It was love at first site!

I love the curved shape and the old wavy glass.

Some chips and a bit of crazing it seems perfect for this farmhouse kitchen.

I get lots of questions about where I found  this French bottle rack.

I found mine on Maison decor you can find that shop HERE
Although currently she does not have any in stock.

You can also find them at decor steals HERE WHEN they have them featured for the day.

If you sign up through email they will alert you when they are available.

Lots of great uses for these but currently my favorite is using it  for my mugs.

The first time I saw one was on Maria’s beautiful blog Dreamy Whites .

She inspired me!

I decided to keep my little ladder top shelf.

I just taped that little decorative crown to the mirror.

I  found it  at tattered tiques a cute little shop in Lake Barrington ILL.

Mirrors add a little bit of sparkle and light refection.

I just found out that there is a right way to hang horse shoes and a wrong way.

Although it depends who you ask.

Some feel hanging them with the arch up brings luck.

And with it down drains all the luck out.

Others feel any way you hang them brings you luck.

Truth is I bought these because I like the rusty patina.

And the sweet embellishments.

And since I am a Chicago Cubs fan……. I can’t say that I believe in good luck or bad luck  🙂

I wanted to thank Courtney from French Country Cottage  for featuring  THIS .

You can hop on over and join her party HERE

I am loving your favorites, too, starting with that barn door. I think I have bad luck with horseshoes. I had one hanging upside down and it disappeared when we moved….hmmmm….maybe it is bringing someone else luck? Hope you have a great night- xo Diana

Ann, I love your whites!!! Your vignette looks so dreamy! I have a confession to make… I used to hate those french bottle holders. I don’t know why… and now I can’t wait to get my hands on one for my kitchen!!! And seeing all those beautiful mugs on yours makes me very very excited to get one!
You have a way of putting together such wonderful vintage vignettes!!!
And I can’t get out of here without drooling all over your little pink table!!!! SIGH!

The door… it speaks to me Anne! Beautiful vignette. Horse shoes??!! Not sure which is the right way either.. lol.. I have one for the same reason you do. I live in Horse Country and my Mr. thought the rusty patina would appeal to me, so he brought it home.

You create such beautiful vignettes Anne. I have had a horseshoe hanging at the top of our deck stairs for years. I was always told they are supposed to be put up with the opening at the top so the good luck won’t spill out. 🙂 I have a bunch of horseshoes to put on my website soon as I can get to it. Lots of patina and rust. Have a wonderful weekend. xo

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
