Dreaming About Paint

April 5, 2015

I have some pretty exciting news to share with you today. If you follow me on Facebook and Instagram you may have already heard. These past few months have been a whirl wind! As they say when it rains it pours, and it sure is pouring for me and I will be forever thankful! I have been dreaming about paint quite a bit lately. As in designing and creating a pastel line. Let's go back to the beginning. As you know several months ago Heirloom Traditions paint contacted me to ask if I wanted to try their paint. And as you can see I have been using it for most of my projects. Here are just a few of my favorite projects. I have been blogging for three years and I have been working really hard in those three years. People ask me how many hours I spend on my blog a day, and honestly I ... View Post

Decor Steals Design Ingenuity Event

April 2, 2015

I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of Decor Steals Design Ingenuity event! Along with Pamela From My Front Porch To Yours. Shhhh I have a secret, you have a chance to purchase these lovely baskets before they go live to everyone else at 9:00 a.m! These sell out really fast, so don't wait! I have missed out on a few deals because I waited too long, and went it's gone it's gone. It's usually several months before you will see that deal again. What I love most about these baskets is that you can use these in so many ways. So I thought it would be fun to use these baskets for some lovely spring flowers. I know, I am all about pink roses. But these Hyacinth smell amazing! The hyacinth and daisies look beautiful in these baskets! To hide the ugly plastic plant container, I ... View Post

Disney Dreams Do Come True

March 31, 2015

I'm not sure if you know this about me or not, but I am sort of a Disney freak! If I could live in Orlando I would be at the parks weekly! I am pretty bummed that we won't be visiting WDW this summer. But we are hoping to get back next summer for sure! This is such a big topic for me I could really go on and on. But today,  I wanted to share how Disney dreams do come true! I wrote an article a last summer about Planning Your Disney Trip. I shared some details and tips on planning your trip. One of my favorite sources for all things Disney trip related is the DISboards. Seriously this is an amazing board for you if you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World, Disney Land, a Disney Cruise, and so much more! They even have a budget board if you are planning a trip, but need to ... View Post

Easy-To-Make DIY Chalkboard Sign

March 30, 2015

Today I wanted to share this easy to make diy chalkboad sign. Last year when I held my first at home sale, I made a few signs. I wasn't happy with the way they turned out, but being my first sale I didn't allow myself more time to make nicer signs. You can read about my first sale HERE. And HERE. I recently started thinking about how I was going to make signs. Thinking I would have to run to an improvement store to pick out wood, and have them cut each piece to size. Yeah, I don't have an electric saw yet. But, while browsing through the craft store I saw a few small chalkboards and I had a light bulb moment. When I spotted these faux chalkboards they were laying horizontal. But I held them up vertically and noticed that they would make the perfect size for signs. I am sure ... View Post

Elmer’s Glue Crackle Finish

March 29, 2015

I have been hearing lots of buzz about using Elmer's glue crackle finish for a piece of furniture. It sounded pretty easy to do, so I asked my daughter if she still had Elmer's glue in her stash of craft supplies. Sure enough she did! I have had this old mirror for several years. And you all know how much I love a good crackled chippy patina. So I thought it was about time I try this technique. This is just plain old Elmer's glue, not a special crackle finish. It's using Elmer's glue and the technique that make this special. I love the patina on the glass, but the paint on the frame was sort of blah. So I took out my Heirloom Traditions paint in Blushing and painted one coat on the mirror frame. I'm sort of impatient, so I took out my hairdryer to speed the drying ... View Post

White Lace Cottage Blog Tour

March 26, 2015

Welcome to the new and improved White Lace Cottage! Thrilled to see this come together. As much as I liked the way the blog looked before, I wanted a cleaner look. I also wanted my site to be easier to navigate. Lesley from Chaotically Creative/Launch Girls designed my new blog header and set up my new blog theme. She was wonderful to work with and listened to what I wanted to do. We both talked and set up a plan on how we wanted to create my new look. I needed to start branding myself and the way my blog looked before was no longer working. It was time to bring this site up a notch. Besides my blog changing I have some other changes going on that I cannot wait to share! As I said I was looking for a cleaner look on my site, and easier to navigate. Yes I still have ads and ... ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
