My Growing Collection of White Ironstone

October 21, 2012

I have been collecting white ironstone for a year now.It  started out simple and is really blooming into a nice collection. In my living room cabinet I was displaying my rose dishes. Now that I am changing my home I did not like all the pink in that cabinet.I wanted a simpler and cleaner look. Here is a glimpse of the cabinet with my pink dishes  HEREAnd this is what it looks like now.I just found that latest pitcher at a yard sale I will share that in another post.I really do love this simple look. And the warmth of the wood too.Yes I am painting many things in my home. But not everything.I do want to keep a few wood pieces to add some warmth. This and my antique sewing cabinet are not going to be painted. Lighting is an issue in this room.Really the best time is in the early morning. But I am ... View Post

Pure White on Display

October 20, 2012

I have been a bad blogger.I have been very busy shopping and painting for my space.I have not been able to keep up with all the blogs I follow.I am hoping I can catch up soon! Here is a table I found at the goodwill store.I planned on selling it but then decided to sell the table I had and keep this one instead. That is the fun part about selling!I  painted this with Annie Sloan Pure White. Originally I was thinking of cutting the legs off.Now that sounds a bit creepy doesn't it! But I thought I would end up with a bigger project than I wanted so I left it as is.Not sure if it needs something underneath or not.I added some old books, some horse shoes,a few plates and a Lady Madonna. Not sure if I like this set up yet or not. Here is another view. Also the lighting is not so good today. It was a ... Farmhouse tote, white gourds and a lavender sachet

October 16, 2012

I am taking a little break from my home projects.I still have to add the hardware to our cabinets.I need Mr. Cottage to help me with that.We were trying to fix a leaky toilet this past weekend and  it is still not fixed. This past weekend I sold my french table set that I shared with you.I added a few more pieces to my space and then sold those as well.I did not even have a chance to take photos to share.I am low on furniture inventory so today I need to get out and shop for some things to paint.I have a few small pieces I will work on.But I need some larger pieces too!Today I wanted to share a tote on found recently at a local antique shop.LOVE this old tool tote! I am showing this on my farmhouse kitchen table but I am using it in my family room on our blanket chest.I want to paint ... View Post

Kitchen Reveal Antique Desk

October 12, 2012

Well I am almost done with my kitchen.Just a few more changes I would like to make but I think this is it for now.Yes I decided to paint those cabinets above the desk. And Yes I did take out the built in.It was much too small for me as far as room.I could hardly put anything in it.Where do I start?Lets start with the desk.My friend posted on her facebook that someone had a desk if anyone wanted it for free.Um yes sure I'll take it.I got in touch with the women and she said this was her husbands childhood desk. She had no where to put it so she was giving it away. When I took this desk I was going to paint it and sell it.Yes it was just old wood nothing to look at.Anyway I started to wonder what it would look like in my kitchen.I was looking for a desk and this one was free! I measured it yep ... View Post

My Farmhouse Kitchen

October 8, 2012

Thank you so much for all of your suggestions! I decided I needed two more chairs that were a bit bigger. And I also decided I could not live with that yellow.I was lucky and found two chairs in that same style. They are not old but the right size and very sturdy.I decided to paint them all the same color. That is our den behind the doors.Still working on that room.No peeking! As you can see I also switched the bench to the opposite side. The newer two chairs are on the end.I think they look better as they are taller than the other two. Love those creamy white roses in my French white pitcher. My favorite round board on the table too! I use that every night!I really love this white! Seem to fit in better with all of the changes I have made to my home. These are beautiful! And smell heavenly ... View Post

White Painted Farmhouse Table

October 4, 2012

Guess what I have been up to lately.Moving things around yep again.Mr. Cottage is used to it by now.So don't get used to seeing things the same in my home.Expect things to change quite often.Remember that farm table I had in my creative room?Well I started to wonder what it would look like in my kitchen. And here it is.It is a bit longer than our other table and a little narrow too.But that is how those old farm tables are.I recently found those two yellow chairs and white chippy chair. And you remember that pink chair you can see it on my header.I also found an old bench and I painted  it Annie Sloan Old White.I like all the different colors of the chairs. But not sure about the yellow what do you think? I really like having chairs mixed with a bench. This table really fits in with all the ... ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
