Today I wanted to talk about my sale and what I learned. First I am sure you all want to know how successful my vintage market sale was,how much did I sell, and how many people attended and bought. Since this was my first sale, not including previous garage sales I had no idea what to expect. As you know I transformed my garage into a shop. I think it turned out incredible, looking just like a shop! I ordered some signs on line that I thought would work, but after ordering them I found out that my town would not let me put these up as they were, so they needed to be adjusted. I really wanted to make a special first impression when coming to the sale. I can't believe I forgot to take a photo, but I placed my pink bike by our tree, and in my bike basket I added fresh hydrangeas. I also ... View Post
Sweet Vintage Shabby Stool
As I am preparing for my first market at my home I have been frantically getting things ready, but it has not stopped me from shopping. I picked up this sweet vintage shabby stool just a few days ago. I fell for the pink roses,I painted the legs sweet pea from vintage market and design paint. The background color is sort of a lime green and the pink really pops well off of this piece! I know crazy, getting things ready and stopping to shop and paint! Today I am finishing setting up shop in my garage, wait until you see what I have done. It looks nothing like a garage at all! As I was setting up I thought adding some flowers to the space would be pretty. I am repurposing many treasures into vases. The flowers will come with the pieces. Here are just a few of them. The flowers ... View Post
Painting A Staircase
This week is going to be a busy one,the countdown is on to the sale.I am transforming our garage into a shop. I will be sharing photos soon so you can get a sneak peak at how it looks and what will be at the sale. Because I have a busy week and I did not have any planned or scheduled posts,I thought I would share a post from a year ago when I painted my staircase. Besides painting my kitchen cabinets, this is one of the best decisions I have made. Love how nice and bright it is in our living room,no more orange stain, yay! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We have been in our home for seven years. And since that time the stain on my stairs has changed from a warm glow to orange. If I could have done it all over again I would have never stained my stairs but had them ... View Post
Vintage Metal Stool
I have seen reproduction pieces like this before but I have never come across an authentic vintage metal stool with a number on the seat like this one. Yes I have stenciled stools with numbers, but to see one that is authentic is a rare find. No need to fluff this photo with roses, because this makes a statement all on it's own. The patina is perfection as is the color. This was found at an estate sale, which I rarely go to. But I spotted the sale as I was on my way chiropractor. That's usually the only time I stop at an estate sale, they are normally expensive and you usually have to take a number before entering. This was a house with a barn, and I was able to walk on in. I bet you noticed my door I am using as a back drop, yes that is my barn door. And this may come as a surprise ... View Post
Getting Ready For A Sale
As you know I am getting ready for the White Lace Cottage sale. It has been fun pulling out pieces,I kind of forgot about some of the things I have. Yes that's how it is when you are in this business of selling vintage treasures. You are constantly shopping and buying pieces. And not all of my finds have a shabby chic look,I also love farmhouse and industrial pieces too. Remember I am pretty eclectic with my style. Love this antique wicker basket that has that French look. The patina on this piece is amazing, and I must admit it is hard to part with some of the pieces I find. But that is the nature of this business, part of the fun is the hunt. I never know what I am going to find while out treasure hunting. Love coming across these vintage seltzer bottles and I have my own ... View Post
Gluggle Jug
Sometimes I surprise myself with pieces that catch my eye, like this Gluggle jug. Interesting name isn't it? This is nothing new,I actually have had my eye on this for many years. And just recently I decided I needed to bring one home. I think the color is something I fell for too. It's definitely a conversation piece. This Gluggle jug is from England. It gets is name from the sound it makes when you pour the water into a glass it makes a glug, glug sound. I will be using this mostly for our lemon water. Yes I still enjoy my large mason jar,but it can be a pain filling it up. This is much smaller and easier to fill and clean. Besides using this for lemon water,I think this would be great for Margaritas! Someone on instagram mentioned filling it with wine and using it as a ... View Post
