Decorating My Screened In Porch

May 12, 2015

If you have been following along you know that I have been making changes on my screened in porch. One of the changes was painting and adding a stencil on my floor, you can read about that HERE. Now it's time to start decorating my screened in porch. I mentioned that I wanted to add a little color in my screened in porch, and some pieces were going to come back and others would not. Here is a shot of my furniture before. This photo was taken last summer before I painted the floors. I painted the chair cushions, the color of our house, boring! I don't know why I thought that would be a good idea when I did it the first time. I guess I was not thinking very far ahead since I wasn't sure what I was going to do to the floor. So, here is my table in our room now. Now you can see ... View Post

Past Present And Future

May 11, 2015

I have so much to do as I am preparing for my second annual sale at my house. But lately as the school year is coming to an end, and Mother's day was yesterday I have been pondering about my past, present and future. Thinking about my past yesterday and trying to comprehend how fast the years go by. My daughter is a freshman this year in high school, and I have shared this before, she is just starting to drive! I remember moving in to our home here, nine years ago. (It's hard to believe that this November we will be here for nine years!) My husband taught her how to ride a bike, and here we are teaching her how to drive a car. That's mind blowing! I don't feel old, I don't think I look old, but I must be getting older to have a teen daughter. (Photo taken last summer) Keeping ... View Post

I am thrilled to be collaborating once again with Cutting Edge stencils, this time with Paint- A- Pillow.  I couldn't wait to create a custom pillow with Paint-A-Pillow. Cutting edge stencils, Paint- A- Pillow is a fun way to create a one of a kind pillow for yourself or as a gift for someone. Let me show you how wonderful Paint- A- Pillow is. First head on over to Cutting Edge Stencils and check out the selection of stencils for Paint- A- Pillow. I think this was the hardest part for me, because I like several of them! When you receive your order, it will be delivered in a big box and ready to go. Cutting Edge Stencils has wonderful stencil brushes that I also wanted to try along with their fabric paint. But when I received my order the colors were a little darker than I ... View Post

DIY FloraCraft Shabby Topiary

May 7, 2015

I have been challenging myself to do more craft projects. It's not that I don't like doing  crafts, I do, but I don't always have ideas for them. Until I came across an old shabby lamp, and then I had a light bulb moment. A shabby chic topiary! Let me show you this easy DIY FloraCraft shabby chic topiary craft. And when I say easy, I mean easy. Yes this is super easy to make, and no glue was required to make mine. Here are the supplies needed: -A vintage lamp base, the shabbier the better. -Scrap cotton fabric, look for fabric scraps at a thrift shop with several colors or a floral pattern. I used a Rachel Ashwell fabric. -FloraCraft Make It: Fun® Foam . One large, one small. -FloraCraft Foam tools. -FloraCraft foam cutter. The first thing I did was made a hole with my ... View Post

How To Add Detail To Furniture

May 5, 2015

The pressure is on to get things ready for my upcoming sale. And time is ticking too. I've had this old dresser for many years. I fell for the curves on this sweet piece. But it was lacking details. Here is how to add detail to furniture using gold wax. Let me warn you these photos were shot in my garage. Since I am hosting a sale in a few weeks, I didn't want to haul this in my house, only to haul it back out into the garage. Here is the before shot, yeah I know it's pretty dark and grainy. This piece was painted a flat white several years ago. I painted this dresser two coats of French Butter from my signature paint line. After the paint was dry, and by the way this paint dries very fast. Yes, I finished this project in a few hours. So after the paint was dry I took out ... View Post

How To Make A Cartoon Photo In Picmonkey

May 4, 2015

I was doing a search trying to figure out how to cartoon myself. I know that sounds strange, but I have seen photos that people transformed into a cartoon photo and I was intrigued. After researching,  I discovered that I can do this on Picmonkey. Let me show you how to make a cartoon photo in Picmonkey. There are a few different ways to do this. One requires you to have the upgraded royale service. I think it's worth upgrading because you have so many more options for editing photos. And it's very cheap too, just $4.99 a month. By the way this is NOT a sponsored post :-) This is super easy to do! First go to Picmonkey, click on edit to download a photo from your photo library.  Once you have your photo you can click on themes. Scroll down to comic heroes. For the first ... View Post

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
