Shabby Vintage Tinsel Tree
I found this shabby vintage looking tinsel Christmas tree years ago. It is a very simple tinsel tree so not much is needed to decorate it. Last year I just added silver mercury glass ornaments. This year I decided to add my pink ornaments since changing my bedroom. I have had these tucked away for years it was fun bringing them back out again! These ornaments are some of my favorites. They all look vintage but they actually are not. Well come to think of it they are 23 year old so I guess they are sort of vintage. Love this sweet Santa, have you ever seen a pink Santa? Another one of my favorites, reminds me of the ornaments from the 1940's. Those little paper houses look vintage but again they are not. I found those many years ago and fell in love with the colors. They ... View Post
A Christmas Tree In My Kitchen
Yes I have a Christmas tree in my kitchen this year! Last year I shared this Christmas tree in my trunk, you can view it HERE. My Christmas tree looked great in my trunk but this year I wanted to do something a little different. This year I decided to add my tree to this galvanized wash tub. Yes I know you have seen this before,it's not an original idea. But I have always adored this look! The size of this wash tub is perfect for my tree. I added that piece of vintage lace from some scraps I had been saving for a project. Since this is a twig tree I like to keep things really simple. I used one strand of 100 lights and I just added these in a wave pattern. It is not easy to wrap the lights around on this tree because of the branches. These ornaments were made by simply ... Decorating With Mirrors
I keep tweaking and adding to my master bedroom. I was not totally happy with the space next to my armoire and chandelier. Recently I gave my daughter my tall standing mirror because I didn't like the look in my room any longer. And honestly I really love it in her room! But since moving it out I missed having a mirror large enough to view myself after getting dressed. It is nice to really see how you look after you dress. Okay I probably sound like a broken record but yes I found this in a thrift shop for a very thrifty price. Knowing I did not want to hang it on my wall, but rather lean it against the wall. My armoire needed to be moved just a bit to make room for this large mirror. I love decorating with mirrors, they add light and a little sparkle to any room. This will ... View Post
The Scoop #92
It's hard to believe it's November 11th and we already had our first snowfall! Working on tomorrows post here is a sneak peek. Hi it's Anita from Cedar Hill Farmhouse here with some news before we start the scoop. I love this party!! I might have mentioned that before, but it's true!! And one of the perks of being in The Scoop is working with some fabulous, fun, and talented women. So it is with a heavy heart I am announcing that Linsey. from Farmhouse Porch is leaving the Scoop. I LOVE her, and will miss her here, but she lives in the area, so I'll still get to see her in person. I hope you will continue to visit her even though she won't be helping us host the scoop any more. I totally understand too, she's got young kids and a demanding job, ... View Post
The Scoop Creating Fall Vignettes
I am so excited to be a part of The Scoop creating fall vignettes tour! You know that I recently shared my fall home tour. But I thought I would change things just a bit to show you how things look for now. Well at least until I start getting my Christmas decor up! I like to keep my decor for the holidays pretty simple. I create many vignettes usually very simply. One of my favorite pieces on my farmhouse table in my kitchen is my old scale. I just added a pumpkin and some roses in one of my favorite pitchers. I like using real pumpkins, the colors are really amazing! I do have a little pink in my home and I don't put it away because fall is here. I just work with what I have. Painting my walls white was the best decision ever because I can add or change any color I want! I ... View Post
