The Real Reveal…it’s HER room

February 10, 2013

I thought I would share with you what my daughters room looks like on a GOOD day.

Remember this is a teenage girls room.

She is very neat but let’s be real  it does not look like this everyday.

When we decided to change my daughters room there were a few things that still had to come back into her room.

And as much as I would love it to stay the way I shared it with you it is not realistic.

002shabbychandelier

My daughter loves to read.

Having her books in her room was something she still wanted.

One of her favorite things to do is to read.

And her favorite book series is Erin Hunters Warriors.

Yes I know not very pretty.

But it’s her room.

She also loves her special teddy that is pictured here on her bed.

My daughter has had this sweet teddy in her room since she was a baby.

And here she will stay because….

it’s her room.

004shabbychicbed

She also collects dolls.

Most are displayed in her doll room.

Yes she has a room just for her dolls.

But she wanted to have a few of them on her desk.

003shabbybedroom

Something else that was not shared on the other post was was my daughters Disney cabinet.

Ever since she was small she has had a love for Disney.

And of course her electric guitar and amp had to come back in.

I know that is not vintage.

But this is her room and she requested they stay in the room.

That lamp on the Disney cabinet was also requested to still be in the room as is.

005shabbylamp

She still wanted to keep her Disney princess alarm clock.

It is pink.

I know not very French Chic.

But this is her room.

Even though she requested these things in her room I still think it is beautiful.

The most important thing is that SHE

my daughter

LOVES

HER room.

I think your daughters bedroom is just lovely! I know exactly how you feel about wanting her room to stay picture perfect all the time as I had made over my daughters bedroom a while ago but pretty soon after she had shoe boxes on her wardrobe and photos all over the wall. Will have to do a post about it soon. It’s called reality! I think your daughter’s doll collection is cute and we just have to let them be who they are… after all that’s why we love them! take care, Maryann

Thanks for showing us your daughter’s room again. It is a lovely and sweet room. I have 2 grown daughters and now 3 granddaughters so I do understand about girls and their need to have their own personal space. So glad you shared the Disney collection. Our entire family loves all things Disney. Have a beautiful and blessed day!

Enjoy all her things for as long as you can! When they fly the coop, you’ve got all the time in the world to rearrange to your liking. Then they come home from college breaks and it’s right back to being “their” room again. Hehe.

Her room still looks sweet, electric guitar and all. Personally, I love the cabinet filled with her doll collection. Are you surprised? 🙂

I know it all goes by so fast. It’s like the lyrics from Taylor Swifts song “Never grow up”……Take pictures in your mind of your childhood room.I do that every time I pass her room.I know she does the same thing.
Oh I am glad she wanted to keep her Disney collection too.And her dolls. It makes her room special for her.

It wouldn’t be her room if she didn’t fill it with those speical little things that make her heart sing. I think you’ve managed to blend the vintage and new very well.

Anne this room is amazing!!! The before shots your daughter didn’t want you to show were nothing compared to my kid’s rooms here! Even on their very good days 🙂 I have a boy so there is no way I can ever do a room so pretty as this – could you imagine his face if he came home to whites and pinks?? At least you have pretty dolls and disney to display – try making nice with wrestlers and hero dress up….! But I do also have a girl….one day she she can have a beautiful room with her wooden toys I so love. And maybe a little area for some plastic fantastic 🙂 Jac x

well of course she wants her things, it is her space..it still looks very nice..and her “collections” are her! I was asked by my sister “why” I let our youngest son put his posters up..after I had papered upstairs.. I told her..it is “HIS” room, his taste, his likes..soon he won’t be upstairs…..:(

Your daughter’s room is so lovely! My daughter and I can’t agree on how to decorate her room so I stay out of it! LOL! Well, except to make her get it up in the mornings! It’s nice that your daughter still wants to display her doll and Disney collections! When my daughter gets tired of something, out it goes! I try to tell her that one day she may want to have some of those things for her daughter but she says no! Now, my son, on the other hand, is a pack rat! Have a blessed week!

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
