This is the last project of this series ” How To Update A Teen Bedroom“.
As I’ve shared I’m cheap, so I’ve been reusing everything I can in her room, including her curtain finials.
Her curtain rods are fine and don’t need a change those.
So what did I do to change her finials?
Well, it was very simply actually!
I pulled out my Heirloom Traditions paint in Synergy, the same color that I used to highlight the details on her furniture.
It’s a beautiful turquoise color that reminds me of vintage cars.
Her finials are glass, which is no problem, because this paint adheres to any surface.
So, my first thought was just paint these with two coats of Synergy, then apply a clear top coat and that’s it.
But, once I painted these, I was like, these are b-o-r-i-n-g!
I had an a-ha moment.
I ran into my supply room, and pulled out my silver leave and adhesive.
Once the paint was completely dry, I added a few coats of silver leave adhesive.
I waited until this was fully dry, then started applying the silver leaf.
Which was fun and very easy to do!

This is a fun, easy and cheap way to update finials.
You can see that with just a little paint, you can transform anything!
