Posh Pink

April 13, 2015

One of the new colors in my signature paint line is Posh Pink.

I couldn’t wait to shabby up my old table with posh pink.

I have shared before how much I love finding pieces with original chippy paint.

But sometimes even when I am lucky enough to find a special piece the color is all wrong.

Like this piece.

I love the patina on this old chippy tote, but not the color.

So I added a little Heirloom Traditions paint and transformed it.

See that table below?

Several years ago I came across this old chippy farmhouse table.

I have moved it to several rooms in my home.

And last year I added it to my front porch.

Being outside it got a little too weathered and turned a dirty, dingy, grey.

I love the patina but the dirty color had to go.

Instead of painting it white I decided to give this old chippy table a fresh new look with Posh Pink.

This color is perfectly shabby chic.

If I had been out treasure hunting and found a chippy pink piece like this, I would squeal with excitement!

Here it is transformed and all prettied up!

I think Rachel Ashwell would approve of this color!

Yes, you can still still the chippy patina under the paint.

Let me share how I painted this chippy old table, and kept the chippy patina.

First I painted a coat of posh pink right out of the can.

After it was fully dried, I watered down a little of the paint in a cup and painted the second coat on the table.

So why did I do that?

Well, I felt that it needed two coats, I could see a little of the dingy color peaking through after the first coat.

Just a little, not much.

And because I still wanted to see the details of this piece, I decided to water down my next coat of paint.

Most of the time using this paint I only need one coat.

And other times I need a light coat that I water down in a separate cup or container.

I haven’t waxed this piece yet, not sure if I will or not.

I am planning on selling this piece at the sale.

I hate to part with it, because it’s perfectly shabby chic!

But I can’t keep all the cool pieces 😉

I just wanted to say thank you!

The response to my signature line of paint has been overwhelming!

Orders are being shipped!

We are still experiencing technical difficulties, still trying to iron out the free shipping on my vintage pieces in the shop.

If you order a vintage treasure, you will be reimbursed for the shipping.

Altho I’m not a “pink” kind of gal I really love the softness of that color. Not glaring in your face pink. I’m sure other gals that are pink lovers would enjoy brighter pinks, they’re just not my thing, ‘m more a coral lover. Would love that in my guest bath. Happy for whomever gets to buy it. Glad to hear your paint line is selling well.
    Happy Spring and week Anne

Thanks so much JaneEllen! This paint is really for furniture pieces, glass…etc. It’s quite expensive to paint walls with it.Although I did use it to paint a small portion of my wall as a chalkboard. I know the price tag seems high, but you use very little of this paint because it covers so well. I will have to share a blog post showing how many pieces I can paint using a little can :-)A little really goes a long way 🙂

I am so excited for you! Love following along as your paint line grows. I’m not a pink person but I can totally see using this beauty for accents a splashs of muted color. So happy for you! enjoy! Oh, and your photos are phenomenal! Love the way you are able to share the essence of chippy!

I love the color! It’s pink without being too, too pink. Just about perfect. 🙂

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
