Making My Own Bling

March 17, 2014

On a recent thrift shop trip I found this book, rejuvenated jewels.

I have been enjoying wearing the beautiful vintage pieces my friend Jeannie from The Crown Jewels Of Art designs.

So when I saw this book I knew I would have fun creating some pieces of my own.

I have been saving vintage pieces of jewelry for sometime now.

I look for bags full of broken pieces when I am out treasure hunting.

I was also lucky to find this vintage jewelry box on a recent trip.

It will be one of many I plan to store my vintage jewelry finds in.

Here is the piece I just designed, not bad for my first time.

The bottom piece is not old but the floral piece is.

And you know how I love my bling.

I took apart another necklace that had those gold beads with the rhinestones.

It is fun just looking for vintage pieces.

I really love getting a bag full,it’s like a treasure hunt.

You never know what you will find when you open that bag.

Love this! I do the same, have been buying up other people’s scraps and broken jewelry for years. It’s the basis of my jewelry business. I’m a bling lover, too, so this is right up my alley!xoKathleen

Very lovely, Anne. I think you did a wonderful job on your necklace. I don’t know why I never thought of doing something like this with the pile of costume jewelry my grandmother left me. It all came in a big vintage jewelry box similar to yours, too.

I have that very same jewelry box! It’s from my teenage years! I’m gonna dig it out from under the bed and display it. I love your site, and inspirations!

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
