An Old Dairy scale a Ladder and White Roses

September 25, 2012

My Friends have had this scale hanging in there booth for sometime now.I have looked at it many times but walked away. After working this weekend I could no longer walk away!
I knew I would have the perfect spot for it and this would also be fun to play around with.

I hung this sweet old dairy farm scale right above my sink.I just hooked it onto my ladder.I found some sweet old linen I placed inside and draped it over a bit. These roses are from our market.I love the creamy color and a bit of green they have on the tips.A perfect fall rose!I am planning on adding my hydrangeas and some white gourds to this scale.
But I  had to take some photos of these roses in this basket! Aren’t they gorgeous!!

I am off to our farmers market today to pick up more pumpkins and white gourds.I need to do some painting today too!

Ooooh, I just love it! I saw one over the summer at an estate sale but they wanted major bucks for it. Sigh! I walked away empty-handed. =( I’ll just admire yours!

Hi Anne: That scale is really great and you are displaying it perfectly. I have a similar one(not as pretty as yours) but I’m thinking it’s not being shown off to it’s best advantage, so I might move it..Happy Tuesday..Judy

Love that scale! I’ve had my eye on one for a long time at a store near me too, but have never caved in to buy it. It always looks so unique though. I love how you hung it over your counter like that.

I love that scale with the flowers in it–perfect! I want to find some of those little stem water holders so I can do something like this and leave it out. Love the hanging scale.

LOVE your scale, Anne, and you found the perfect place for it. I’ve sold a couple and now I wish I had kept one for myself. Great charm.

Lucky you!! I’d love to have one of those scales, but unfortunately I don’t have anywhere to hang it where it wouldn’t hit me in the head! Pretty roses, too.

You sure have a good eye… that is the perfect spot! I love the window frame that you have suspended, too! I totally get what you mean about seeing something and waiting until you find just the right spot. That happened to me this morning at the antique mall. I spied a vintage birdcage with chippy white paint. So sweet! But I had no idea where to put it in the house! Plus, the only way to put something into it was through the tiny spring door. Not even big enough for Christmas ornaments to go inside, which was my one idea. Oh, well!

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
