I just added new treasures to the shop, and since I haven't shared what's new in the shop in sometime now, I thought today I would. I also want to mention one more thing about the survey, but fist let's take a look at what's new in the shop. I've had this French basket for many years. I bought it from a dear friend of mine, but since I am slowly downsizing I am letting it go. I have used it for my dried hydrangea's, and pumpkins and much more. It's a bit tattered, but oh so perfectly Shabby Chic! I love collecting silverware, I have been for years. These pieces are part of my collection that I am letting go. Yes it's very mismatched. It's an interesting collection, many pieces have monograms, and one even says United with the United Airlines symbol. I can't imagine how old ... View Post
The Survey Says!
First I wanted to thank you again for taking the time to take the survey. The survey gives me a good idea of what you enjoy the most about the blog, and what you don't like so much. So the survey says.... I suck at recipes LOL! Well, how did you all know that cooking wasn't really my thing? Yes, most of your replied that you do not want to see my recipes. Actually I love baking, but I don't do it often, and that's a good thing for my waist. So I won't be sharing any more recipe posts, unless it's something amazing or out of this world! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I know there were a few, yes just a few comments about not sharing photos of roses. But, I love them and I am still going to share them. It's sort of my trademark, and part of my style. I will try not to show them all of the ... View Post

Growing Up In The 1970’s
The last two days I have been working in my kitchen on a project, and I cannot wait to share! But today I wanted to get a little personal, and talk about what it was like growing up in the 1970's verses today. A commercial that someone shared on Facebook struck a nerve, and really put things in prospective. Let me share a little about me and my childhood. I was born in 1966, so I grew up in the 1970's. (yes this is me crafting away ;-) ) Down the street from our house lived a sweet lady. My friends and I would walk on down to Mrs. Little's house and ask if we could pick cherries off of her tree. Sometimes she said yes, and other times she told us they weren't ready for picking. Either way, Mrs. Little was always kind when we asked. I am sure we pestered her quite a bit. When ... View Post
Distressed Furniture Techniques That Will Blow Your Mind!
Distressed Furniture Distressed furniture is so easy to create! I 'm always pushing the bar trying to think of new and creative ways of adding patina to pieces of furniture. Let's face it, finding those pieces that have original paint and patina are hard to find, and they can be expensive too. Yeah, I love those chippy pieces. Sigh.....it's a love affair I have had for a long time. Seriously my heart skips a beat when I come across a cool vintage piece with the perfect color and patina. Below is one of my favorite pieces. None of the texture or patina is the same on this piece. It also has a few other colors peeking through, from the years of being painted on over and over again. Which makes me love it even more. It's those imperfections that are perfection to me. As I said I do ... View Post
Fabulous Furniture Friday Feature Paula Blankenship
Today for fabulous furniture Friday feature, I am sharing an amazing and inspirational person Paula Blankenship, and a paint that changed my life! I have had many ask me how I was introduced to Heirloom Traditions paint. Back in in October or November of last year I received a message from Paula Blankenship in my FB messages asking if I wanted to try a sample of paint. I said, why of course, I would love to! The sample was sent, and I fell in love with the paint. My first post sharing this amazing paint went viral, How to distress paint using vinegar. From that day on, I was hooked! I love how creamy this paint is, and how easy it is to work with. It distresses with ease, I love the color selection, the waxes and all the new products that have recently came out. This ...
