If you are in a pinch for a really super easy dessert then ice cream pie is the answer. This time of the year we always have some in our freezer. Mostly for my daughter my husband and I don't indulge in this very much. All you need is a pre-made graham cracker crust pie shell and a container of ice cream. First let the ice cream soften a bit.But don't let it melt. You want it to be softened enough to spread easily in the pie shell but not to a liquid form. I add it to a bowl and mix it just slightly. Then start to spread it in the pie shell with a spoon. Next use a frosting spatula to spread it around evenly.Do this quickly as it is melting quickly. Don't throw that lid away that came with the pie.You can now turn it over and use it as a cover for the ... View Post
Collecting Milk Glass
Besides collecting white ironstone another one of my recent favorites has been collecting Milk Glass. I find lots of milk glass while I am out thrift shopping but I only indulge on the special pieces that are unique to me . And because of that my collection is quite small . Love this set of milk glass nesting bowls.I use these all the time! For serving or just sitting out with fresh summer fruit. A more recent find was this pretty scalloped bowl. Isn't it pretty!Love this pretty design. This will make a great salad or chip bowl! I bet it would be great as a punch bowl too! See that lace dish next to this bowl. A milk glass cake pedestal. This is so pretty displayed even when I am not using it . I found these petite mugs years ago while on ... View Post
Vintage Mirror
Recently a dear friend of mine gifted me a beautiful vintage mirror.Isn't it nice to have friends that know you so well? She had this for years stored away but could not find the right place for it in her home. She knew that I would love this vintage mirror and she is right! As soon as I saw it I had the perfect spot for it. Yes this little spot in my hallway is always changing. This time I added this sweet vintage mirror and decided to add that sweet little plate to it too! Yes the shelf is already attached to the mirror. There is a bar too that runs across on those little corbels but I took it off.I really don't need to hang any towels from here now. The color is a vintage earthy green. I added some clocks a metal petite urn and a little cherub ... View Post

The Good The Bad And The Ugly
The good the bad and the ugly..... well maybe not ugly but some good and bad news to share. About a year ago I moved into my space at an antique mall. I was not planning on doing it.But I felt like the right opportunity came around and so I jumped in. I really enjoyed hunting for pieces painting them and watching them find new homes. Looking for unique treasures was fun too! But when I did my yearly taxes I was stunned to see what was really profit and what was not. I decided to step away and search my soul for what l lies ahead. Today was moving day and I am fully moved out of my space. So thankful to have had the opportunity. Because while I was there I met some wonderful, amazing and talented people whom many I now call friend. It's not the end I ... View Post
