Trying to figure out how to arrange furniture in a room can be quite a challenge. I found that out 8 years ago when we moved into our home. Here are some simple tips. 1). Make sure you have a good flow and nothing is obstructing that flow. Yes I know, sorry you are seeing our entertainment center in another blog post. But I am showing you this because you really need to see this whole room and why I arranged the furniture the way that I did. As you can see my two biggest obstacles are my huge entertainment center and our fireplace. We also have four windows and we also have two entrances. One from our kitchen and the other off to the side of our entertainment center. Because I have this entry here. And the other here. Adding furniture here is not an option. This is a ... View Post
What’s New In The Shop
Sharing what's new in the shop this week! I found this lovely plate recently while treasure hunting. It reminds me of one, I believe it was in Rachel Ashwell's book? I love the soft faded roses and scalloped edges. Perfect for yourself for or for someone special as a gift. I have lots of linens to share with you this week. First is this lovely set of lace trimmed napkins. Some of you know that I use cloth napkins everyday. I feel that you should use your pretty things everyday not just special occasions. These are perfect for everyday or for entertaining. I am so excited to share these next new treasures! I love, love, love finding vintage sheets. Why? Because you can do so much with these and they just don't make them this pretty anymore. Vintage sheets are great to use ... View Post
Update Kitchen Cabinets On A Budget
Update Kitchen Cabinets On A Budget If you're looking for a way to update kitchen cabinets and add a little detail I have the solution for you. After painting my kitchen cabinets I felt like my plain cabinets needed a fresh update. I discovered these silicone appliques while doing an online search. These are so easy to use and much cheaper than replacing cabinets. Using appliques to update kitchen cabinets is a great way to add details but don't go over board. I just added these to my upper cabinets. Adding these to every cabinet would have looked tacky in my opinion. Let's get started. (This post contains affiliate links please see disclosure policy) Supplies needed: Efex appliques (but you can use wood appliques as well. These are much easier to work with) DAP® Weldwood ... Creatively Christmas
A few weeks ago I was lucky to attend Jeniffer Rizzo's Creatively Christmas book signing. Winner Announced! It was held in a beautiful old train museum building. This was the same place we met up last spring for our yearly blogging event that Jeniffer so graciously plans. I love this room is so charming and I love the history behind it! Traci the owner of Whimsy in Morris Ill,helped Jennifer decorate this lovely room. I love this glittered up sign! And the hat on top of this tinsel tree. Little Hersey kisses around a cut piece of log make the perfect setting for this miniature tree display. Isn't this cute! Great idea for a holiday party centerpiece! Sweet vignettes everywhere you looked! Delicious cupcakes propped perfectly on this vintage sled. Plenty of food ... View Post

Adding A Centerpiece
I love adding a centerpiece to my tables, here are five ideas to add a simple centerpiece. A table looks a little too plain and boring for me just to leave it without anything. Here is a very simple look, nothing needs to be complicated when you add a centerpiece. A lace tablecloth layered with a ruffled pink throw, even though this does not fit the table all the way it still looks pretty. I love things that are casual and not fancy, just pretty. A simple pitcher of roses fits perfectly as this centerpiece. Same table now I just added old scale. I love using vintage scales in my home. This one holds extra dessert dishes and yes I could even add dinner plates too! The pitcher is a place to store extra silverware and napkins. This pitcher brings a little color on the table ...
