Increase Facebook Likes And Engagement

Increase Facebook Likes And Engagement

Today we are going to shift gears and talk about how to increase facebook likes and engagement. I know that many bloggers, youtubers and businesses have gotten discouraged with Facebook. Many feel that it’s not worth the time because Facebook doesn’t show their posts. Well the fact is the reason that posts aren’t seen is because of how they are using their Facebook page.

Facebook is a tool and it really is a great one if you want to promote your site, business, blog or Youtube channel. Facebook is my number two referrer to my site next to Pinterest. I’ve been working hard to increase facebook likes and engagement on my page for four years now and over the past year I started seeing huge growth.

It seemed like I was stuck for months without growth until the day I finally got serious about building my page. I started implementing new techniques and really paid attention to what I was doing and what worked. I’m going to go through each step and I promise you that if you do exactly what I’m sharing you will increase facebook likes and engagement. I grew over 60,000 new page likes and increased my engagement to over 50% in under a year!

Be Consistent

Make sure that you are consistent with how often you are posting on your page. Don’t post whenever you remember too or if you feel like it. Get a schedule and stick to it. I post ever single day 7 days a week no matter what. If I’m going on vacation or need a little time off I schedule it out. You can easily do this using the Facebook scheduler. The  Facebook scheduler is free and you can schedule weeks in advance. You can also use services like Postfity or Postcron just to name a few. I have no idea how these work but you can do a search for Facebook schedulers to find more about these and other services. I’m cheap so I prefer to schedule it using Facebook because at this time there is no charge.

Post Often

Besides being consistent you also need to post often. I post every single hour on the hour from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.  The more that you post the more reach, engagement and likes your page will get. You want to keep your posts going in your feed so your followers look forward to seeing what you are going to share. I have many people that say they look forward to seeing my posts.

Don’t Just Share Your Own Stuff

This is a hard one for most people because they feel like they have to share their own posts to promote their business. But the truth is that most people don’t want to hear you talk about you and your brand, channel, blog, business all of the time. They want to see and hear about other things. But keep it in the same niche as your business. This is what I do. I go to Pinterest and look for photos that are relevant to my brand. I share those photos on my page with a link to the original source. You still need to share your content from your site, channel or business but keep it to no more than 4 of your own posts and content a day and spread them out throughout the day. This mix will keep it organic and won’t feel like your over promoting yourself or business.

Pay Attention To What They Want

Pay attention to what your readers like reading and share more of it. This will increase facebook likes and engagment. When you share a post that gets comments, likes and shares those are the posts you need to share more of. Especially posts that get a high number of engagement. Don’t just share what you want to share if your followers don’t feel a connection to that post. You can look in your Facebook dashboard to see how posts stack up to each other. If a post doesn’t have engagement, comments or likes delete it. Badly performing posts are not favored by Facebook and they will think your posts aren’t worth sharing and they will hide them in the feed. You want Facebook to think your page is popular.

Engagement Is Key

Make sure that you engage with your readers. If you want to increase facebook likes and engagement, make sure that you like each comment, answer questions and even comment back on some of the comments. You need to take the time to do this even if you use a paid scheduler. Your followers want to know that you care about them, and you should care about them. Take the time to interact with them. They will be loyal to you and will be helping your page grow as they will engage with others sharing your posts. If you just post your content then leave without any engagement they will think you don’t care about them. Make sure you let them know that you are thankful to each one by interacting with them. I have literally hundreds of comments on most of my posts. But I always take the time to interact with my followers.

Ask Questions

A great way to engage with your readers is to ask questions. You don’t have to ask a question on every post. For example you can share a photo and ask for advice, or an opinion. People love giving an opinion and advice. Those posts always do well because they have great engagement, reach and likes.

Boost

When you have a post that does really well pay to boost it. I don’t spend much when I boost a post. I’ve only spent 10.00 – 35.00 a week at the most. You can put any price in for as long as you wish. You can also set a limit so you don’t accidentally spend way over your limit. I believe you need a Paypal account to do this. But that little bit of investment in a post that’s doing well can give your engagment, likes and page a boost! When you are choosing how much to spend to boost a post Facebook will give you a estimate on how many people you will reach. But many of my posts have gone way above what they estimate and have really helped grow my likes and engagement on my page. Just remember only do this if a post is doing well. To find out if it’s doing well look at the number of people that post has reached. If it’s way above most of your posts then pay to boost it. You can also boost your own posts. I do that as well as it drives more traffic to my blog. I don’t do it all of the time, but I do occasionally do that.

Increase Facebook Likes And Engagement

One last thing

I want you to go into your insights in your Facebook dashboard and scroll down to where it says “Pages To Watch “.

Increase Facebook Likes And Engagement

Here you can see the total page likes, posts from the current and former week along with the engagement for the week. If you look the the page likes on the bigger pages you can see the engagement is very low. Even though Better Homes and Gardens has 3.9 million followers they only have 125.2 k which is very low considering the size of the page. The same with  HGTV as they have 194K page likes but is only engaging 273…ouch! I have over 106,000 page likes and my engagement is over 60,000. My engagement is over half of my followers which is really good. So don’t get too wrapped up in the number of page likes. It is important if you’re a blogger and you want to work with companies because they want to know how many likes you have. But whats more important is how much engagement you have.

Let’s Recap

  • Be consistent
  • Post often
  • Don’t just share your own stuff
  • Pay attention to what your readers want
  • Engage with your readers
  • Ask questions
  • Boost posts that do well

I promise that if you follow these steps and do exactly what I’m sharing you will increase facebook likes and engagement.

Perfect tips! I totally agree with all of them. Especially the engagement factor. You have to know your audience and the times they are on and what they like.

Hello, Enjoyed these tips and will try using them on my Facebook page for my antique business. I am wondering if you have ever tried any of those subscription beauty product sites? I see Target offers a monthly one and there is something called Birch box. The idea is you are supposed to get products and samples worth more than the cost of the box. I would love for you to do some research and do a video about them.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
