Painting Cowgirl Boots

March 18, 2015

I have been dying to try painting a pair of cowgirl boots.

If you follow me on  Pinterest, then you know how much I adore cowgirl boots.

Especially fashion cowgirl boots that have beautiful colors.

I have had this pair of boots for a few years now, and I felt like they needed a little update.

I pulled out my Heirloom Traditions paint in Mocha and started painting the bottom portion of my boots.

Mocha is a pretty milk chocolate brown.

I can’t wait to try this color with a little French Vanilla mixed in.

That actually sounds like a delicious dessert!

Next, I mixed half French Vanilla and Half  Synergy also from Heirloom Traditions and painted the top portion of my cowgirl boots.

This is the same color combination I just shared with you, in my recent  kitchen update.

You can read about that HERE.

Don’t mind those straps, I still need to paint those better, although really who is going to see them once I am wearing my boots.

Okay, so after I painted these cowgirl boots,  as pretty as they were they looked too new.

Next it was time to dirty these up a little with Muddy pond wax from Heirloom Traditions.

Ah, much better.

You can see the left boot has no wax, but the right boot does.

Let’s take a closer look at the two boots.

The boot on the right looks old and worn, perfect just what I wanted!

Muddy pond brings out all of the details.

You really only need to use a little bit of this wax.

A little really does go a long way.

And here they are all finished up!

I don’t know why, but I love a bouquet of roses in a boot!

Yes, you can use boots as a vase.

Simply insert a glass jar and add water and your flowers and there you go instant boot vase!

This is a fun and unique way to display your flowers when entertaining.

And you don’t have to put them up on a table, just place them on the floor.

Wouldn’t these be cute vases for an outdoor party!

These cowgirl boots are perfectly Shabby Prairie style!

And I cannot wait to wear them!

When I am not wearing them they are eye candy!

As you can see painting cowgirl boots is very easy to do.

And I used very little paint to do this, I only used two coats of each paint color.

If you have an old pair of boots give this a try, or look for a used pair when you are out thrift shopping.

Even if you don’t want to wear them, they make a beautiful vase!

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
