Window Box Roses

May 2, 2014

Remember I told you about a window box I found a few days ago treasure hunting?

Today I added a fresh coat of paint.

When I saw this I pictured this window box filled with roses of course.

First I cleaned it up the best I could, some of this old dirt did not want to come off.

This window box is sitting on a bench I also painted today, more on that later.

I am having lots of fun trying different Vintage Market And Design paint colors.

This time I wanted to try New Leaf mixed with a little Dove.

I did not want this window box totally covered because of course I wanted a distressed look.

After painting and sanding it I gave it a coat of Dark Umber wax.

Love using that wax, just make sure to mix it well before using it because the color settles to the bottom after it is mixed with the wax.

I did not paint the inside because this is a window box and will be used as one.

Loving this color, especially with the dark wax.

Just showing this propped up on my little chippy step ladders.

A splash of pink looks perfect with this color.

I am thrilled to teach another workshop at Lucky Junk tomorrow and I am planning on bringing this window box with me.

I have quite a few projects lined up for next week.

The countdown begins until my daughters Graduation party.

And lots to do!

Anne, this window box is beautiful! I love the color and yes, it does go nicely with pink! I’m getting ready to paint two old window boxes I have and I think I’ll get some wax like you suggested. It gives it such dimension! Hugs, Leena

Hi Anne. I love that window box and the pink roses are wonderful with it. I really like that color yellow and the finish you got on it. There seem to be a lot of different paints out there now and I hadn’t heard of this one. It certainly looks like the kind of finish I would want..Happy Sunday..Judy

Anne what a great find and I love the color. The waxing does add so much dimension as you said. Can’t wait to see it filled with flowers.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
