Lucky Junk And Girlfriends

December 15, 2013

On Friday the 13th I hooked up with some of my girlfriends and headed on over to see the grand opening  Lucky Junk.

Yes it was a very lucky Friday the 13th for them!

Janet and Bill are the sweetest couple ever!

Their shop is absolutely amazing filled with beautiful vintage treasures.

A mix of industrial,French,Shabby,Nordic style.

These photos are a little blurry,I used my phone.

And yes that is me peeking out from the back.

Not sure why I am bending over I am one of the tallest here.

My photos do not do justice.

That mantle is amazing!

She has so many beautiful treasures.

Janet’s displays left me so inspired!

And I did take a few treasures home with me.

tapshoesvintage

I spied this vintage pair of tap shoes.

Love the patina and style.

That tattered ribbon tie is perfection!

I know I very recently decorated my home for Christmas, but truth be told I am itching to start moving things around again.

I did have my white ironstone pitcher on this farm table but I decided to add this little vignette.

vintagebuttons

I love collecting vintage buttons.

These work perfectly with this vignette.

If I had little ones I would not leave these buttons out as they are a choking hazard.

But I don’t have to worry about that in my house.

I also found boxes of vintage piano scrolls.

I love how they displayed them in the shop, but I also have a few other ideas for them.

As on my table I decided to use it as a runner.

I love the look of this old paper.

That vintage box with faded roses was found months ago.

Don’t you love the graphics on this!

This paper really has my creative juices flowing!

Your Friday the 13th sounds like it was a good day for you! I bet that was fun. I really like your new finds. I’ve seen those piano scrolls before and always wondered how to use them. That was a good idea to put it on your coffee table.

Lucky you! I also have a music roll…you know, you buy something without any idea as to how you’re going to use it. Think I just figured that one out-ha! I actually live in IL, not all that far from Arlington Heights. I’ll have to try this place out. I didn’t know we were neighbors! Happy Holidays. xoxo Kathleen.

Love the music sheets and your idea to use them as a runner is genius. Also, omg, Arlington Heights is where my son moved to this past May. I have never been to Chicago, but I plan to visit him ( I may wait until it gets a little warmer.) We are originally from Setauket, Long Island, and now living in Charlotte, N.C., but once a northerner, always a northerner.) I will not miss the opportunity to visit Lucky Junk!!! Can’t wait!

Oh what a wonderful shop. Great place to wonder and get lost in. I too love old buttons. I have jars of them around the house that were my grand and great grandmothers. They are so fun to look thru. I like to imagine where they came from…grandpas coat…grams sweater. Your tap shoes are such a fun find! So cute! Happy Holidays Anne!

    Anne,
What a great picture of all of you. Janet’s shop looks amazing. It is on my list to visit. I am going to let Stacey know from Cottage Industry too since she lives right there. Looks like some great treasures. I hope we can go there together.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
