Decorating With Mirrors

November 12, 2013

I keep tweaking and adding to my master bedroom.

I was not totally happy with the space next to my armoire and chandelier.

Recently I gave my daughter my tall standing mirror because I didn’t like the look in my room any longer.

And honestly I really love it in her room!

But since moving it out I missed having a mirror large enough to view myself after getting dressed.

It is nice to really see how you look after you dress.

Okay I probably sound like a broken record but yes I found this in a thrift shop for a very thrifty price.

Knowing I did not want to hang it on my wall, but rather lean it against the wall.

My armoire needed to be moved  just a bit to make room for this large mirror.

I love decorating with mirrors, they add light and a little sparkle to any room.

This will come as a shock but I am not going to paint this just yet.

Well I may never paint it actually.

I am enjoying the richness of the gold in my room.

That shawl on my chaise is on of my favorites,I wear it all the time around my home especially this time of the year.

It actually looks pretty when I am not wearing it when it is laying on this chaise.

Not sure if I ever mentioned it but I bought that chaise at a thrift shop many years ago for 45.00!

There is not much that I don’t buy at a thrift shop.

Many of my clothes are purchased there too!

A pretty floral quilt found it’s way home !

Love the soft pretty colors.

Even though it is too small for our king size bed it fits perfectly at the bottom just adding a bit of color.

After I shot these photos I made yet another change.

I decided to add a little more bling in my bedroom.

Anne, it’s truly beautiful and restful. I love the mirror. I think it’s the same one I have in my den, which is still gold by the way. It is positioned so it reflects the lake in the room. And you can catch a glimpse of yourself before heading out of the house. I wish I had room for a big one to stand on the floor like you did in our bedroom…sigh. I love the new look of your blog and that’s a great photo of you over there on your sidebar. We will be heading up your way Thanksgiving Day. Going to the circus downtown Chicago for Ava’s birthday on Friday. xoxo

I love leaning mirrors! The bigger the better too. With all of the white and pink in your room, the gold is quite nice. It stands out more that way.

Your room is so lovely! I, too, love mirrors and since doing some redecorating this summer, I don’t has as many. I find that I am very much missing them! It’s a good thing I just put them in storage because I think they’ll be coming out soon!

Well it’s a good thing you did not get rid of them.I always regret getting rid of things I treasure.I know that eventually they will make there way back in my home somewhere if I hold on to it.

What a wonderful find! I love huge mirrors! I would love to have one in my bedroom someday. Your chaise is amazing, too! I found a super cute and comfy cottage style recliner at a thrift store for only $40 a few years ago and it looked almost new! Sadly, it is so comfortable that I have worn through the fabric on the seat and arms!
I really adore your pink sidetable and mirror and roses and lamp! And the new quilt is gorgeous!!

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
