White Painted Farmhouse Table

October 4, 2012

Guess what I have been up to lately.Moving things around yep again.Mr. Cottage is used to it by now.So don’t get used to seeing things the same in my home.Expect things to change quite often.
Remember that farm table I had in my creative room?Well I started to wonder what it would look like in my kitchen.

And here it is.
It is a bit longer than our other table and a little narrow too.But that is how those old farm tables are.I recently found those two yellow chairs and white chippy chair. And you remember that pink chair you can see it on my header.
I also found an old bench and I painted  it Annie Sloan Old White.I like all the different colors of the chairs. But not sure about the yellow what do you think?

I really like having chairs mixed with a bench.
This table really fits in with all the changes I have been making.

Mr. Cottage prefers these chairs and the bench. He thinks the other two chairs that white and pink on are a bit small. I found them all comfortable.
I love all the chippy paint on this chair.I am sealing these to keep them from chipping anymore.
I bet you are wondering what I did in my creative space?Where did that table go?I will share that with you all soon.I know I am such a tease!
My family is going to be enjoying these beautiful fall days.Taking a drive to see all the fall colors change.

So pretty! I think I would paint those yellow chairs though… not sure why but that shade of yellow doesn’t seem to fit.

    Beautiful room!

Your table looks cute. If your husband doesn’t like the chairs I am sure it wouldn’t be hard to find some new ones 🙂 I always find more chairs than I know what to do with!

I love this mismatched look and the chairs sure work for me; so pretty. Good idea about sealing them though…paint chips probably wouldn’t look good on your clothes:-)

I love this change!! The part that I like the most are your adorable mis-matching chairs. That’s the best part! I like the yellow. It is a great cottage color since they are pale yellow. Love the farm table too. You did good!

I think your house looks so inviting and friendly~love the long table and the mismatch of chair colors. As long as they all have the same tone I think they work no matter the color.

Loving the white farmhouse table in your kitchen, Ann. Of course, I’m a big fan of farmhouse tables. It looks great in there with the bench and chairs.

Gorgeous! Love mixing a bench with chairs around the table. I like the yellow chairs, but the color doesn’t really seem to go right now. Is it because it’s fall? Maybe that color would work better in the summer?

I like the white table and room in general. I think the reason the colored (yellow and pink) chairs don’t work is because you haven’t pulled the colors throughout the space. I have always heard that you need to use a color three times; if you like the yellow, I think you need to pull it through the room-both the dining room and the living room that way the eyes follows the yellow. I have to agree with the hubs-some of the chairs are too small. I’d paint everything white and remove the smaller chairs. The rooms look so pretty with just the white:)

Oh we sound so much alike, my husband always says thank goodness he’s not a blind man or he would get hurt 🙂 I love the table. I have a bench in another room and have been thinking about this same idea:) Have a great weekend.

So pretty … and I’m thinking a robin’s egg blue for the chairs. But what do I know? I don’t have a farmhouse table or chippy furniture. Okay, I have chippy furniture. Just not chippy in the chic way. Chippy in the kids destroyed it way!

    🙂

I like to mix and match the pale colors. I think the yellow chair is fine, and I happen to love any farmhouse table so I think your changes look wonderful, Anne.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
