Dreaming About Paint

April 5, 2015

I have some pretty exciting news to share with you today.

If you follow me on Facebook and Instagram you may have already heard.

These past few months have been a whirl wind!

As they say when it rains it pours, and it sure is pouring for me and I will be forever thankful!

I have been dreaming about paint quite a bit lately.

As in designing and creating a pastel line.

Let’s go back to the beginning.

As you know several months ago Heirloom Traditions paint contacted me to ask if I wanted to try their paint.

And as you can see I have been using it for most of my projects.

Here are just a few of my favorite projects.

I have been blogging for three years and I have been working really hard in those three years.

People ask me how many hours I spend on my blog a day, and honestly I really don’t know.

I start at 7:00 in the morning and work until 9-9:30 every night, 7 days a week!

I have a few breaks in between when I need to clean my house, do laundry, cook things like that.

But most of my time has been devoted to my blog.

I made a promise to myself that this was going to be the year to make it happen.

I was going to work even harder, and go after my goals not just wait for things to happen.

Things don’t always fall into my lap.

Sometimes it’s luck and other times it’s going after something I  have worked hard for.

So after using this wonderful paint I decided to put it out there….and ask if I could  design a pastel line.

As you can see from my home decor and style that pastel colors work best for me and it’s what I love.

Was I afraid to ask?

Heck….yes!

But if I never asked I would never know what could have happened.

The response was …a yes!

This has been a dream of mine for a long, long time!

I am an artist and my home is my canvas.

I cannot imagine a day without creating something!

And now I had the chance to create my own colors.

Yes, I created these colors.

So how did I decide what colors to create.

I wanted to create a softer  pastel version of every one of my favorite colors.

Colors you would find on an old chippy piece of furniture.

A color that would call my attention if I was out treasure hunting at a flea market.

I still have a lovely Lilac color and a soft peach color coming soon.

The labels are not here yet either, so I used a faux label when I shared my photo on instagram.

I have lots of projects lined up I can’t wait to try these lovely new colors!

I hope you are all as excited as I am!

Thanks so much for letting me share my excitement!

I am extremely thankful!

My advice to you is to never ever give up on your dream.

I believe if you work hard you can make it happen.

Sometimes the timing is off and things don’t seem to be going the way you would like them too.

I don’t always get a yes answer, I have approached companies and have been turned down.

And that’s okay because in the end we were probably never a good fit.

I don’t normally talk about my faith, but I do believe that God has a plan for all of us.

So far all the people that I have been in contact with through my blog has lead me to the next chapter of my blogging journey!

Lesley from Launch Girls is going to set up my shop next week.

My paints should be available for purchase next week!

And yes we can ship these out of the US!

~And I leave you with this little bit of inspiration~

if your dreams don't scare you they aren't big enough

Anne, this is such an inspiring post, and just what I needed. You had a dream and went for it making your dream into reality. I love your new paint colors. I bought some chalk paint for the first time the other day and plan on using it for a project today. Congratulations on your new line of chalk paint, I hope to try it. Give yourself a pat on the back, it was not luck, you worked for it 🙂

Beautiful colours Anne. I must say, I am quite partial to the Vintage green and French butter. The walls in most of my home are painted in a colours very much like the French butter. Amazing in the morning light…
    Congratulations my friend!!

    Aren’t your colours beautiful.
A few years ago I had a vintage furniture & homewares shop in the Northern Rivers of NSWNMA in Australia.
I sourced most of the furniture & my husband painted it all.
There was a tradition here (in the oldern days) to paint kitchen dressers, you know the ones with stained glass doors at the top, the butter yellow & the pale green.
He did several of those in those colours & they sold like hot cakes.
Chalk paint wasn’t around then, what a pity, but I’ve used it on my furniture.
Congratulations, you’ve obviously worked very hard.

Absolutely thrilled for you Anne! And the colors are so soft and beautiful! I didn’t realize how much I loved pastels until I started following your blog because I use the reds, golds and blues of Provence in my home. These colors are so ‘you’ and I think I can work that gentle yellow into my decor!

I wish I could have attended Marcie. But it’s a 8 hour drive from where I live. And with my daughter on spring break I only had a very limited time. And the weather is also an issue. We ended up getting quite a bit of snow which would have made traveling not very safe.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
