Guest Bathroom Mini Makeover

December 19, 2013

My guest bathroom is a very hard room to shoot.

It is very small and has a 9 ft ceiling,  it’s narrow and  dark.

This room was quite a challenge to decorate too.

I have been collecting different mirrors and things to add to this room.

I know I did not take a before photo but there really was nothing to look at.

You can see how small this room is.

I was going to use this ladder on another project, but as I was pulling this room together I thought the ladder would make a great towel rack.

The vintage chamber pot was found months ago at a thrift shop.

comode1

I just added some dried twigs to this vintage commode courtesy of my sweet friend.

The added height is perfect.

I decided to add that frame around the mirror.

It really brings the two together and fills up the wall space.

I love the detail on old frames.

The frame was gold but I painted it with my Anne Sloan chalk paint in pure white.

frame

This etched mirror was a find many months ago.

It has been moved around several places in my home.

Behind the door I added a wall of mirrors.

A group of three vintage hand mirrors and a few wall mirrors too.

The wall mirrors were already painted and the color is perfect for this room, which is great I don’t have to paint them.

I love when I don’t have to do a thing.

It’s so tight in this room it is hard to get a full shot.

On the opposite side of the wall I hung this old chippy door.

I found it  at Tattered-tiques last week while I was out shopping with Kris from Junk Chic Cottage!

The size is perfect and you know how much I love chippy paint!

I kept the frame and vintage poem I had hanging in here.

Some of you may remember this poem.

It was featured on one of my first posts.

On the same side of the room, I have a small table that I painted with Miss Mustard Seed’s paint.

You can see the before of the table HERE:Miss Mustard Seed milk paint linen.

lavender

I still love my lavender on this table and I still keep the extra rolls of toilet paper in this vintage chamber pot.

I do keep somethings the same if they are working.

Since this room is so small that table works perfect and I still like the way it is displayed.

Here is one of the many bamboo mat’s I bought from Decor Steals.

The size of this mat is  great in this small room !

I will be working on our bathroom and my daughter’s bathroom soon, just doing mini makeovers.

Since we are adding a screened in porch my budget is even tighter than it was before.

I love your makeover. I posted on my blog a chippy piece I got. I put on my porch but it may have to come inside. Merry Christmas.

    Anne,
Little room but huge impact! I really like all the details you have in here, yet the room is still quiet. Love the print (and verse) on that vintage poem!
May your Christmas be merry and quiet (I would say bright, but I know you like neutrals). 😉

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
