Sweet 13

November 17, 2012

Wow where have the years gone? Thirteen years ago today changed our lives forever.I never thought I wanted children of my own.I never thought I could be a Mom.But one day I decided I was ready. And on November 17 1999 my sweet daughter was born. And on the same day 10 years earlier her Grandmother passed. We are truly blessed in so many ways.So thankful for her.She is so special. I know everyone says that about there own child. But mine is truly a one of a kind.Never in a million years would I thought I would be lucky enough to have such an amazing girl! She is kind, thoughtful, beautiful on the inside and out and smart. She loves to read and loves animals especially her cat Tabby. When she was a baby she would sleep right through the night after about a month. She was never whiny nor did she cry ... Pure White French Provincial

November 13, 2012

This French provincial dresser was not a piece I had previously in my home.I found it at the thrift store for 3.00.Yep that was the price! But as the guy was helping me out with it to my car he dropped it! Not a surprise I sort of have that kind of luck! Because of this I  was given a refund so it was free!! I did not ask for the refund he felt bad and insisted! I fixed the chipped piece and you cannot even tell it was broken. This was painted black and had no hardware. But luck would have it...yes finally a little good luck.........! I would find the perfect drawer pulls at a yard sale for a total of 1.20. And yes that is for all for all of them! I painted this Anne Sloan pure white with a dash of old white.Love the creamy look! The ironstone bowl and pitcher was also found at a ... View Post

Linen Armoire Maison de Ferme

November 12, 2012

I have been working hard to finish up yet another room. This will be the last project for now that winter will be approaching.I will be painting some furniture pieces but I won't be doing any rooms after this one.I am not ready to reveal the whole room just yet.I am still working on a few things and this week I am busy getting ready for my daughters 13th birthday! I can hardly believe my baby is turning 13 where did those years go??The room I have been working on is our bedroom. Our furniture is from the 90's when pine was really in.I do love pine still. But the stain turned a bit to orange for me.It is amazing what a little paint will do! For some reason I am having a bad time capturing the color of this.I hope I did a better job than my preview.Still learning how to use my camera. This is ... View Post

Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint Linen

November 8, 2012

I have been dying to try Miss Mustard Seed's milk paint.I ordered this awhile back and it finally arrived a few weeks ago. This is not my first time using milk paint.Marian from Miss Mustard Seed shared using milk paint on her blog a year ago. After watching the video about it I knew I had to try it.I used milk paint on THIS table. Not Miss mustard seed's another brand. But I was familiar with using it.I found this table at a thrift store and this is what it looked like before painting it.Cute table but the color did not work for my home. This table is used in my guest powder room.It is a small room and this table is the perfect size.Found this ironstone at a thrift store.I use this to store toilet paper in.I need to fill'er up! Don't you love how chippy and old this looks! What I love about ... View Post

Coffee Burlap Rocking Chair Reveal

November 6, 2012

Continuing to make changes in my living room.I had an antique rocking chair that did not fit in with my look. The wood was dark and the fabric was green like in 1970's green. And I have some proof of this. Not only the fabric but a surprise I found as I was taking the fabric off. Before I show you the beginning stages let me share with you the after.I took a full shot of the living room so you could see the full impact of just one chair. What a change! I painted that rocking chair Annie Sloan old ochre.I reupholstered it using a burlap coffee bean sack found at farm and fleet store. They were 1.99 per sack.Chalk paint was meant to be used to distress furniture. But I decided not to distress this chair.I have a few pieces already in this room that are distressed and I did not want to over do it in ... ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
