HOODED EYES MAKEUP TIPS FOR MATURE WOMEN

HOODED EYES MAKEUP TIPS FOR THE MATURE WOMEN

I’m going to share hooded eyes makeup tips that I think will be very helpful.Hi I’m Anne and I have aging hooded eyes. Yep, as we age those hooded eyes become prominent. I know how frustrating it is to apply makeup and not be able to actually see it.

WHERE TO BEGIN

Application is key when you’re applying makeup to aging hooded eyes. You have to forget about the way you applied your makeup when you were in your 20’s, 30’s because it’s a whole new ball game! One way to apply your eye shadow is to use a bit of transparent tape on the ends and outer portion of your eyes (see video). This makes it easy to apply your shadow and you’ll be applying it so your eye looks much more lifted.

If you don’t want to do the tape method then you want to make sure that when you’re applying your eye shadow you’re not stretching your eye brow up. When you apply your shadow this way you’re stretching the skin. So when you relax your eye you won’t be able to see the shadow at all.

You want to look straight into the mirror and relax your eye. Starting at the crease you want to start to apply your shadow and blend it in back and fourth using the windshield wiper motion.

When you’re applying your shadow to your outer crease you want to use a darker color than the one you used on your crease. Apply this in a backwards V, Be careful not to go out too far. You want to keep it in that same area. And don’t apply it to your crease. Make sure to blend this in well. I prefer to use matte shadows in the crease and outer part of the eye. But occasionally I’ll use a shimmer that’s very subtle. Any time you use a shimmer it reflects light and creates focus to that area. If you don’t want attention at your crease or outer corner don’t use a shimmer. Always make sure you blend you shadow well.

Finally it’s time to put a shimmer on your lid. You want to use a lighter shadow so it opens the eye and brings life to your face. Avoid putting a shimmer on your upper lid below your eye brow as this will only bring attention to your sagging skin.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
