Changes In My Master Bedroom

August 24, 2014

I am making changes in my master bedroom, well you know the saying one thing leads to another and since I just took my chaise lounge chair out of here and moved it into my studio,I needed to make a few changes in here too!

I really did not need to make any new purchases I just shopped my own home for a few new pieces.

shabby chic style

I decided to add my vanity table to my corner, and I really have to say I love the natural light I have in this corner which is great when putting on make up and fixing my hair!

That lingerie dresser was just moved over from the opposite side of the room.

And since I love that chippy chair next to that piece,I moved that over to this side too!

One problem I had was seeing the cords on the wall next to our armoire.

Oh by the way I bet you noticed my large mirror is not in this room, yep that is making it’s way to yet another room of my house, more on that soon!

shabby french bedroom

I still love my Hobby Lobby chandelier and vintage chippy table.

But since I needed to hide those cords and I needed height I added this vintage chippy crib rail.

I just draped a few pieces of lace and a lovely faded scrap of vintage fabric that I just cannot seem to part with.

vintage lace

The fabric is getting really tattered, and now has several little holes in it but I think it makes me love it even more.

faded roses

I am keeping my French chair in this room, but added this old feather pillow I found,I can’t remember if I shared that with you all?

I would never use an old used pillow to sleep with, but I do love the way it looks on this chair.

Just tossed and a bit wonky but the faded colors of the pillow add that shabby charm that I love.

French Chair

My vintage gate is now in the spot that my lingerie dresser was.

Are you still with me?

I know lots of little changes…..okay so….

For now I am keeping that little mirror hanging above it.

I would rather keep it here and not patch up holes.

I really hate patching up holes don’t you?

vintage garden gate wall

Moving that gate was not a big deal because I already had a vintage  rack  with hooks on my wall.

I usually like changing this out, right now I have a pretty April Cornell gown, which I have never worn.

And that pretty rose print top.

shabby romantic style

Again I have never worn that, but I love the eye candy.

I will often purchase pieces of clothing just for display purposes.

faded roses top

Love the soft faded roses on this sweet top.

And it compliments one of my favorite pieces in my home, this chippy pink table.

chippy vintage pink paint

My bedding is staying the same,I really don’t change my bedding with the season.

Although I do make slight changes to my bedding,I don’t change it all out just for the season.

french pillow

This is one of my favorite finds while out treasure hunting,I just added this to the top of my bedspread.

It gives the room a little color and a little romance.

I am very thankful my husband is fine with a little feminine touches!

shabby romantic bedding

Love how soft this is and how faded it is too,and no it’s not old.

I love finding old pieces, but if it speaks to me whether it is old or not I will add it to my home.

trophy vase

I love added fresh flowers, and I always have piles of books by my bedside.

I found this silver trophy a few years ago, when I am not just displaying it I use it as a vase.

master bedroom shabby changes

My French market basket is always being moved around my room.

I have two of these,I use them for the farmers market,or while out on a day trip.

And they are also use to store my magazines.

shabby chic romantic

The next room that I am working on is my family room, changing and tweaking …..sharing soon!

Pretty. I like a soft bedroom. Mine is of whites with pale gold and sage green. To me a nice soft bedroom is so romantic and conducive to rest.
My bed, very similar to yours was an antique and was broken by the boys, Mr. and eldest wrestling in the bedroom one afternoon. Do we ended up with this one made from old doors 🙂 .Luv the dark wood against the pale walls, but I still miss my 4 poster :/
    Luv your changes Anne!

It’s all so pretty. I love a serene colored bedroom. It just makes sense when you’re trying to sleep. I love the large pillow on your bed with the pompoms. The added texture is really nice.

Since I keep seeing your wonderful home I am being slowly seduced to loving white shabby chic. It’s so restful and comfy looking. Plus you can use accessories in other rooms. I see how you use your goodies and it gives me ideas. Who says old dogs can’t learn new tricks? I might not adopt your total way but can take parts that especially appeal to me to use in my own way. That’s one of many things I love about seeing bloggers homes. Tells me much about the person also. Have fun with your rearranging.
When I get in mood for rearranging, making new art, which I”m still doing after taking down all the beach stuff, have the best time, feel at my most creative. Have a wonderful week

I just love your home with all the vintage accents. I really like your bedspread. You said it wasn’t old so do you know where I could purchase one like it? I am always seeing bedspreads I like in pictures but not in stores! Thank you for any help you can give me.

Thank you Gail! I have two bedspreads on my bed.The top one that is a little more shabby chic was found at a thrift shop.It does not have any tags so I really don’t know where to tell you to look for it.The other bedspread was custom and made from an etsy shop called ticking and toile.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
