Now that we have the makeup basics, let’s talk about contour and highlighting.
As I mentioned in my last video, you I use the RCMA palette for contour and highlighting.
It is a little pricey at $72.00, but I think it’s worth it as a little goes a long way.
Another foundation that I would like to recommend is from Makeup Forever.
You’ll see me use this in the video.
It’s the HD foundation stick.
I’m using 117-Y225.
The key is using a creamy foundation for highlighting and contouring.
I would not recommend a powder highlight or contour, because let’s face it, powder is not our friend at our age.
Powder settles in our wrinkles and fine lines.
I use as little powder on my face as possible.
And the only powder I use is La Mer translucent powder, and occasionally I’ll use Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer.
Benefit Hoola bronzer was actually recommended to me by my dermatologist to use as a contour and also eye color.
If you use this as a eye color, you’ll just you this for your eye contour, you wouldn’t use it all over your eye.
Contour and highlighting to create a flawless look
As I explain in the video, when you apply a liquid foundation, then add a cream foundation to highlight and contour, you’re creating a flawless look.
Now, I know at our age it’s not going to be as flawless as a 20 something or 30 something.
But, this is what I do that creates a flawless look to my skin.
How to choose a highlight color
To choose your highlight color you want to choose a color a few shades lighter than your foundation.
And for the contour, you want to use a color 1-2 shades darker than your foundation.
Here is the step by step video tutorial on highlighting and contouring.
I don’t contour and highlight
everyday, because it does take a little longer to do.
But, you can do this every day if you want to .
I would highly recommend purchasing a beauty blender, it really helps give your makeup an airbrushed look.
Not shown in the video is this moisture spray that also sets my makeup.
I wouldn’t use this to set my makeup in the summer.
But in the winter months it helps set my makeup and also adds moisture.
Embrace your beauty
You are beautiful!
Yes you are!
Embrace who you are and how you look.
I know that I’m not perfect, but I embrace my beauty.
Makeup is a tool to accentuate our features, but our true beauty lies within our hearts, and souls.
Each year I grow a little older, things change, but I embrace those changes.
I hope that you embrace your inner beauty.
Thank you so much for joining me in this series.
I’m sure I’ll be sharing more makeup tips on my new Youtube channel.
