~~White Washstand~~

This is my second project with Annie Sloan Chalk paint.I found this at a thrift store. This is old but not an antique.I knew I could make it special. Not much of an investment if I did not like it.
I used the same paint as I did for the secretary.Paris Grey on the first coat and Old white on the second coat. And yes I did the same method did in the first one.I won’t repeat you can read the post before this one.But the result is wonderful.

That bowl inside is an antique found at a thrift store too.It has a crack in it but that is what gives it that vintage charm. That screen in the background is next on my Annie Sloan chalk paint list.

I like the wood showing through a bit with the two paint colors. This will go in my bedroom.I always wanted an antique washstand. But I could not afford it.I know this is not an antique. But I love the result it looks old and for a steal of a price too.The paint is expensive. But you use very little. The dark wax goes a long way too because you use very little of it.The dark wax actually reminds me of a method I have used for years.Brown shoe polish.I have used that on furniture before in the past to antique it.Just applying it with a rag to painted furniture and wiping off the excess. You use very little shoe polish as you do with the dark wax.I have not tried using shoe polish with the chalk wax but I may give it a try.I have only used that method when painting with latex paint.
