~~I’m Seeing the Light~~

Hello Friends Hope your having a good day.I have been busy changing things in my home.I feel like I have lots of things going on at once.Painting is still on my to do list.But I can’t  do too much until the weather is a bit warmer.
When I moved into our home 6 years ago I thought I wanted a change.My last home was very shabby romantic.I really loved that look.But when I moved here I wanted a change.I was going in the wrong direction you know what I mean?
Yesterday I was in a hunt to try and find some new linens for my bedroom.In my last home this is what my bedroom looked like.

Really feminine huh?That is a peach color on the walls.It looks pink,I know.My husband was so sweet never complained about the colors.Fast forward to my home now.

Lots of black and wood.Hmmm not the look I was really going for.But here it is my confession.
Here are my plans.Paint the room a lighter color.Still deciding on  this.I don’t want it to be WHITE.I really want different colors of white.As in whites,creamy white ivory colors.You get the idea.I want contrast with different whites and some gold in the mix too.
I found a pair of french side tables.LOVE them but they are wayyyyy out of my price range so I am going to keep on looking.For now I am going to paint that bed.My budget won’t allow me to get anything new.And I still do like it.But it needs to be updated.That black side table will get a coat of paint as my secretary already has.That metal piece will get painted too.And there are other pieces that will follow suit.I found a chandelier at a thrift store for 5.00.That was the best find ever.I will show you soon.But…… after shopping round yesterday I found some bedding.Drum roll please…….

I found this Simply Shabby chic full size/queen coverlet for 12.54 at target.It was originally 99.00.I don’t have a full size bed a king size but I knew I could use it.Then I found this.

A kingsize fieldcrest duvet cover for 26.98.Original price 89.00.Now I don’t have a duvet.I just slipped this right over my old comforter.Can’t see through this at all.Not sure If I like those other pillows.

Yes I know lots of wrinkles.I need to steam this.I have four pillow shams too.Two that came with the duvet set and two that came with the coverlet.Here is the coverlet.

I put the coverlet at the end of the bed for now.Total so far is 39.53 for a king size bedding make-over.Lots more to do in this room.I am still deciding on curtains.
I also bought a king size bed skirt from a thrift store for 4.00.Forgot to mention that.I need one of these because the way this bed is you would see the mattress unless you had a really long spread on it.

You can see those black curtains in the background.They must go!!!!
Here is a closeup of the coverlet and the bedding.

I was thinking of coffee dying this duvet.But I am going to leave it white until I paint the bed.Then I will decide.
        ~~~Thank you for visiting.Hope you have a lovely day~~~
    Anne,
    I know htis is an old post, but
    I like this version, even if it is your old version! I think like you do…want a change, but want to keep some the same, but not sure what to do….so….keep moving forward. I am happy for you that you got to paint these things white! I love your Duvet cover, and the shams. The coverlet is beautiful…I would love to find a cream coverlette. I did our bedroom 18 years ago when we built our house, and you know what? I still love it!!! It is mostly cream on cream and a little color, sage green a soft pink peach, lace curatins, gold and a little brown. I am adding an Armoire that i hope to paint this winter and have a rocking chair I might recover or maybe get a love set to recover with a quilt! I will ahve to make the quilt first though! I will share it on my blog! Your new white look is really pretty and feminine in a neutral sort of way, more romantic than feminine. You inspire me to get moving on miine! My huby is staying home from work on my birthday in a few weeks so that we can work on it! I am so excited!
    Hearts to you,
    Betsy
